Hehe, would I consider dating someone that I met online. YES! Like I said before, just because it is relatively new, doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Certain things would make me NOT date someone that I've met online. The biggest one being if there wasn't an understanding of eventually taking it further than just online. I can't do just an online relationship. An online friendship can work out fine, but anything more, I believe you need more.


Distance really doesn't matter to me within reason. I doubt if you were on different continents for an unknown amount of time that it would work. Once again, you need the evolution of the relationship to continue and such a long distance would make that impossible. Short term, it could. It would just be a LDR. LDR's just like online relationships can't remain long distance forever. At some point you will either move on, or get closer.


I have technically never dated someone I have met online, but hope to be changing that in the near future. Ask me that question in six months and maybe I'll be able to give you a better answer. I think that online relationships are just a more specific form of LDR and as such can succeed. They won't be as easy as a regular relationship, but in the end that might be better.


If the beginning of the relationship is more difficult but still matures into a full relationship in due time, then that couple has better chances of remaining together for longer then those who don't have those difficulties in the beginning.
