There isnt any single person who is going to give the exact formula for coming out. I like how you put it to just kind of bring up the subjects to get a feel for where they are going to be coming from. The only thing that I would add to what you say is that, while he's introducing those topics into conversation, he moderately (at first) express support to the views because if the conversation just happens without his "acceptance" of this lifestyle, the opinions arent going to be considerate. At least if they know his standing on the issues, they will somehow educate themselves and open their minds a little.
Thanks for your input, he was trying to get here earlier but the message board was down. he'll try again and read
