Even MY mother knew I liked boys before I came out officially. Everybody knew, because I was playing the less than subtle game. Hinting, but not telling. It does work to come out like that, without the shock. In all honesty, my mother said that she knew I was into boys because of my glaringly obvious disinterest in girls, and never having had a proper girlfriend up to the age of 20. By that time I had already had sex with about 7 boys or so, but I wasn't telling anyone about that and even if they came home with me, they were just 'friends'.
