That wasn't really the issue for me.

In fact the two best episodes were probably the ones that dealt with serious issues, like the Rosa Parks episode, and the partition. Although the NYD special, was the best out of the lot, if you ask me.

In season 11, I just found the writing subpar. Ryan's acting subpar, and there were no compelling villains, or arc to build interest towards the finale. Oh, and Thirteen's humour just comes across as awkward. I miss Eleven's quirky personality and Twelve's rather harsher, more sarcastic wit. Thirteen's like a primary school teacher. I think she'll definitely appeal more to the younger audiences than guys like us. I don't have an issue with her being a woman, but I am looking forward to her exit. Maybe I'll warm to her more this year.

Obviously, I don't want the show to be blatantly 'virtuous' in its PCness ("look how non-racist, non-sexist we are!",) but I've also noticed, at the same time, any decision the show, or any other show for that matter, makes to be more inclusive, or touch on issues like race, gender and sexuality, gets dismissed by some as "PC nonsense".
