Hehehe, ok...first of all...the first five minutes, digital or not..."OMIGOD!!! EDDIE FURLONG!!!" And then? Total heartbreak! What the hell???

But that was my biggest problem with the movie. It completely erases the need for the first two movies and ruins the mythology. It's like...if you were reading the Bible, and they killed Jesus, but "Oh look...there's ANOTHER Jesus!" Well, then what was the purpose of the first one? You know?

No spoilers for Star Wars, but the last chapter of that trilogy did the same thing. It's like..."Sooooo, that whole Darth Vader thing wasn't really necessary then, was it?"

However...!!!

Once the movie picks up, I really REALLY liked it! Not as a "Terminator" movie though. I don't think the Terminator storyline really led itself to an extended franchise to begin with. But the action sequences in this were some of the best ever. And the Rev-9 is pretty damn terrifying, to be honest. And that last part where you've got Arnold fighting the endoskeleton, and the augmented human fighting the liquid form, and Sarah Connor protecting the other girl with the shotgun...and that whole three-way battle where they're just wrecking shop? Mwah! Awesome!

So I liked it. It made a lot of mistakes, story wise, but it was nowhere near as bad as I expected. So yeah, I'd recommend it, just for something to watch on a Saturday afternoon when nothing else is on.

Good review! :)
