Bittersweet as it may be, I really liked the 3M selection for this week! Maybe you will too!

”Crater"

Crater

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect from this movie, going in blind. It had a decent cast and a theme that felt like it needed much more attention than what it got. But...there wasn’t much build up or promotion for it, and few comments once it was released. Which is a shame, because this movie really made me feel good when I watched it while being sick. I got a heavy dose of warm fuzzies from it! :)

It’s maybe a few centuries in the future, and mankind has expanded to the point of living on other planets and moons within our galaxy. Our main characters are made up of a bunch teenagers who have grown up in the facilities that have been built to sustain life, but have never once stepped a foot on Earth before. However, when our protagonist loses his father and sole guardian to a mining accident, the rules say the he is to be sent to Earth to live out the rest of his days. That means going into cryogenic sleep for a period of 75 years, and living in a world that he knows absolutely nothing about. Thus...leaving the best friends that he’s ever had behind. Forever. So they get together to find a way to sneak out and spend their last night having fun as friends.

It’s a really cool movie. Heartwarming, but also a little sad. Ugh, my heart! A little bit of "Goonies" adventure, a touch of "Stand By Me" drama...but in space! Hehehe! Not to mention that both Isiah Russell-Bailey and Billy Barratt are distractingly gorgeous to look at whenever they’re on screen! Jesus! Hehehe! So check it out, and if you like it...spread the word. This is really underrated in my opinion! Enjoy!
