By the time I turned 14, I was like, "What the hell was the whole Pledge of Allegiance cult thing about, again? Even now, it's ingrained in my brain whether I want it there or not. But then again, so is the Boy Scout oath. And the Christian Lord's Prayer. And the Brady Bunch theme! Hehehe, we're all so easily programmed unless we pay attention to it.

I remember being really young, and my grandfather passed away (He was a WWII veteran) and my grandmother was able to take me on a brief tour overseas. And whenever I was with other kids, especially in Switzerland or Germany, and I told them that I was from Chicago...they'd be facinated immediately. But their idea of Chicago was like...Al Capone and tommy guns and hidden bars underground. And I was like, "Ummm...what? What are you talking about?" LOL!

But even after moving to Georgia a few years ago, I mention Chicago to some people, and they gasp! Like..."Omigod! Really? I'm sorry!" Sorry??? What the...

But they think Chicago is some kind of warzone full of murder and gang activity. I'm like, "No! Chicago is green grass and parks and fountains and nice people and museums and night clubs and stuff. You're NOT gonna get shot on your first day! Hahaha! Just go. Have fun. Relax.

But we all have our preconceptions. If I had more money, I'd love to travel more and debunk them all. :P
