He's here to see this I believe. I say this because in everything we do in this virtual Shack that he created, he is still very much a part of the glue that holds us all together. So his presence is very much felt in everything we do here, which can be just as much a curse as it is a blessing at times.

I still find myself looking for emails from him when the old schedule tells me to start expecting them. I still feel guilty about giving him a hard time about not posting the next chapter of whatever story I was currently reading when looking back at it, he spent years of his life at a keyboard when he could have been out doing other things, living his best life... It makes me both feel selfish while at the same time knowing how happy it made him that he brightened another person's life, even if it was just for a moment.

I'm so sorry you are just now finding out and yeah, he would have understood. It's bitter sweet when an online friend's life takes them away from us because it usually means that other things that may be exciting and new are happening for them. It makes them no less missed but, you are happy for them overall.

So for me, I look at it as if he's off to the next big project in his life now but keeps an eye on what he created for us. It meant too much for him to not. We all miss him and sometimes that makes shack stuff hard to accomplish without him. I know it would make him smile from ear to ear to know that something he wrote helped you. In that aspect he was very selfless and as for finding a friend up there, that may have happened because of his huge number of references from all of us down here. At least that's how I like to imagine it playing out ;)
