I have been through several PDAs (several Palm, several PPC and now Treo 600) in the past 9 years. To me they were not a replacement and it will never be.

Like above posts, a PC (laptop) with a full 14+ inch screen can never been replaced by any PDA when you need to work on a word/excel/powerpoint file (say 50-200K in size, which is very normal nowadays).

But also, an always connected Treo is like a dream comes true to me :)

I wrote a detailed article on this subject about a year ago, after I had my (then) Treo 600 for a long while.
