No I think this is not going to kill, of the Palm. Let's face it we have been through worse. It may encourage developers to continue creating great apps if they can be used on both Palm and PPC.

For non-synchronised applications, then I can see this as a distinct possibility. However, it would mean the PalmOS developers would have to react to trend in PPC hardware to be able to provide top-performing applications- for example, getting things to run in a VGA compatible mode, for the latest crop of devices.

The problem is that some of the most powerful PalmOS applications are those which communicate with the desktop (Documents to Go, etc)- as such, there would need to be development to allow wither HotSync conduits to run over ActiveSync, or else new AS conduits for each application.
