What are you thinking? Why dont you just run for free. Lets see there was 5 outlaw W cars and the purse is based on a minimum 8 car field, so what did you get paid? Chump change? But lets not forget those 15' tall trophies that you get "wow" when you get home with it you realize your going to have to move to house with cathedral ceilings so you can stand it up right. Thats there creto, bigger trophies less $$$$$!

Attention Racers and Fans_________________________________ -- Cedric Ingram, Wednesday, March 24, 05:35:28pm [1]

Due to KOTH having a race already scheduled for April 10th, it is in the best interest of our organization, TTT5, to change our rainout/reschedule date to April 3rd. We will be racing with TOMPA Pro-mods on this night, which should make for a really great show. This race will feature 4 classes of heads-up racing with over $20,000 in payout. We hope that all the racers continue to support our style of racing, Heads-up Racing in this area as we strive to work together in providing a quality show for all. We realize this date may conflict with our fellow racers in the Houston area, and we apologize for the confusion. We hope this problem can be avoided in the future as we continue to support each other. We look forward to seeing everyone on April 3rd.

Sincerely,
Cedric Ingram
TTT5

Schedule Update -- TORA, Tuesday, March 23, 04:16:02pm [5]

Please take note of this change as also coming soon is an update on the gate times, entry fees, etc. "Thanks TORARACING.NET."

We were so disappointted with the rain out this weekend. It's sad that some people can't see all the behind the scene work done by many people. -- Matt Cook, Monday, March 15, 06:50:33am [1]

So here goes. Roy Cheney and Camaro Concepts. Roy is putting a huge effort into our organization. Chris Holderness, our Web Czar! Has everyone noticed how often our front page is updated? Seems every couple of days there is something new up. Mike Morgan of TPSA. Always been there to lend a hand. John Harrison, has given great advice and helped in all tech decisions. Not to mention his guys, Rick and Gian. Both great guys who help tremendously. Randy and the staff at Angleton Dragway, can you think of anyone who would do what he has done? His staff is wonderful! Super guys. Everyone needs to remember that Randy went outand committed alot of money to this organization. So when you fly off the handle and rant about something you did'nt like at his track or any track for that matter, you might ought to put yourself in his place. Would you think that was appreciative? (if you ever have a bye-run, reaction time does'nt matter so don't get on the brake until the lights come down) That paved pit area did'nt come cheap. TORA/TPSA is going to help all we can to say thank you to Angleton by lots of side by side racing, big car counts to pack those stands! Last but not least, John Huettel and Graham and David Baker. They spent a ton of money on this deal. Did you hear the advertising on 93.7 and 950am Chris Baker show? That was a huge commitment on their part. How about the track coming around like that? Some records will be set at that place! Thank ya'll for everything. All the staff at HMP were professional and it seemed like a national event! WOW! In closing, please take the time out of your busy schedules to thank everyone I mentioned above and If you can think of anyone else, please mention them so the rest of us can express our gratitude. I know I left out some people, and thanks goes to them as well. Now, lets go up to Denton and kick that KOTH butt! Let's all try to get together so we can kind of arrive together, you know like the cavalry! LOL!!! Thanks , Matt

Videos -- Tom O., Sunday, March 14, 04:49:08pm [1]

The “Honey-Do List” is done!
Videos from Houston Motorsports Park are posted.
Somehow, I am missing some TORA footage. It must have been operator error; the camera is in working form. I’m batting .1000 in the idiot department right now! lol
TORA guys I am sorry, I owe you big time!
I have a little bit of extra footage that is not posted. If your car is not in one of the videos please let me know via e-mail or by posting on the board on my site (yes, you’ll have to register). I will post anything that is requested or send it to you via e-mail. Also, I don’t know everyone by name, that’s why they are not on the description for the vids. If you know the names post them or e-mail me at towensby@satx.rr.com. All or nothing, when I get them all straight I will make the changes.
Thanks to all of the racers, crews, families, and fans that came out to help make this event happen. Maybe next time Mother Nature will let it all happen. See you at the track!

10.5 Out Law Rules -- Beetlejuice Beswick, Saturday, March 06, 09:31:15am [2]

Let's assume that one of the baddest SB Ford guy, say Billy Glidden, shows up with SB NOS only, weighing a mere 2800 #'s and can only muster a 4.84 in the 1/8 on 10.5's with a Liberty and a Skinny Kid race car. So we say a SB has an advantage with less weight? I have seen numerous 4.7 / 6's on 10.5's with BB at 3000#'s. Why are you scared to give a SB a break? Naiser?

10.5 Out Law Rules -- Beetlejuice Beswick, Saturday, March 06, 03:03:59am [4]

TORA / KOTH I think that both organizations should unify in their 10.5 back half rules. KOTH states a SB can weight 2800 # if NOS assisted and subtract another 50 if it has stock front end, and subtract another 50 for Power Glide, combined to 2700#'s.. Seems fair!! We all know Naiser has one bad ass SB 10.5 car. He still has to weight 2900#'s due to the fact he has a Liberty, which adds 100, and does not have a totally stock front end with cross member and radiator support. These rules between the two organizations need to colonize. The dates for the events need to be separate. I like Koth's rules, lets make this happen!! From a possible participant for both organizations.

Replies:

This is my home track, and I just found this out on outlawracing.com. This race should make it easier for the West and the East to get together. ANGLETON UPDATE!!! Just got off the phone with Randy from Angleton and he gave me an update on track improvements. He said he guaranteed that DUST WOULD"NT BE AN ISSUE this year. -- Matt Cook, Wednesday, January 21, 01:05:15pm [1]

Randy has done his homework on the track for coming year! There is alot of polymers available that can be sprayed on the parking lot. It forms a hard surface. The makers say it will get as hard as asphalt. His plans are for more asphalt roads for more access to parking. Rain has delayed the paving, but He's working as we speak. Bleachers are up now so they can seat at least 900 people. I was impressed with his plan on the parking lot. If everyone will imagine Sealy without grass, it would look just like Angleton. When the grass and the polymers fill in, it will be great! Remember, NOT ONE other track owner has tried to do everything that Randy has done for us. We all need to take time to thank him. Many of you know of the added "perks" that Randy has done for ya'll. (i.e. private test sessions etc.) We all need to work together to make TORA/TPSA and Angleton Dragway the best show in Texas!

I believe that I speak for probably 95% of the TORA group and the TPSA group when I say that we are grateful that Randy put up the big purses that he put up and for giving us a place to race for real money. I know there was a couple of unhappy people but there always is in any thing that you do. Randy is a Class guy and is always looking to help out racers in any way he can.Anyone that has not met him, you should do so when you get a chance, you will see what I am talking about. I also want to thank our sponsors, Northline plumbing, John and Kyle Huettel are 2 great guys and really stepped up for us. Also Lump cylinder Heads for helping us out. I am looking forward to great things next year and big money races in Texas. Also want to thank The boys from out of town for making the trip, although there is always a great rivalry, they are all great guys to race with.Look forward to seeing everyone soon. Thanks again Randy, now go try to have a normal life again LOL

October 18 King of the Strip Wins Best in Show

This was the most impressive show this year. All the classes had a great turn out. The Pro Outlaw class had the debut of Keith Klump’s two year labor of love truck. Congrats to Kevin Medue for final round victory over the Cook Brothers entry. Medue went 4.88 at 141 mph with a .422 R/T. Great pass! I worked the head of staging so I got to see all the races and was very impressed with the Outlaw Street. With bumber dragging 200’ wheelies and cars dipping into the 30’s, they had the crowd on their feet. Texas Pro Stock had 19 cars in attendance. David Baldwin finally got the Iron Horse in the 4’s in the finals. Baldwin ran a 4.98 with a .415 R/T against Rick Cowger’s 4.15.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all the racers for the best turn out and putting on the best KOTS show this year. Your loyalty, support and patience this year means a lot to us and I just wanted to let you know! I have been working diligently for the past several months on next year’s program. I believe I have a pretty exciting plan. More information on this to come.

And lastly, but most importantly is our thanks to the fans. Our heads up program is like a race car. Programs like these take a little tweaking here and a little adjusting there to be fun and exciting. These events and classes keep us on our toes. You always have our commitment to make this show and all shows the best they can be for the fan and you the racers. Not always and easy task.

Thanks to all for a fantastic 2003! Glen

In response to your reply Mr. Watching You Sink, we have not gone behind anyone's back to try to get your program killed at Angleton. My whole goal was to try to get the tracks to agree on one program so you Mr. Watching You Sink could race your car at a number of facilities that are all operating under the same rules. I was thinking the more tracks that could get involved would mean that we would all be pulling in the same direction which would finally put some polarity in the heads up program. Just to let you know, Randy and I talk on a regular basis. This does not mean that I am going behind yours or anyones back. You know, I normally do not respond to email or website responses like this. Most of the track operators in this area try to work together. But it's replies like yours that puts them at odds with one another. All of us simply try to give racers and spectators a clean, well maintained facility for you to enjoy your hobby.

Regarding Texas Pro Stock Assoc. This is a very good class and has came a long way with a lot of hard work. I have not counted them out of running at my facility. In fact I have tried numerous times about event dates at LSRP. We like any other business, have a budget that we try to meet. We have chose to go with index classes at our King of the Strip program in lieu of the Texas Pro Stock. Again, this does not mean that we do not want Texas Pro Stock at this facility.

So how is any of this screwing anyone. Looks like your information or source on these subjects are not completely up to speed. My door is an open one and instead of making slanderous comments, why not pick up the phone, email, send a letter, meet with me to get the true story? That's what I do. - Glen
