Author: JAG Junkie (Ronda)--sneaking in at work
Subject: It could be something as simple as a cooling fan going bad. Or it could be something much worse, like a hard drive going bad. Is there a pattern to when you hear the sound? Like when your hard drive might be working, i.e. when you open or save a file. I’d say back up your files just in case.

Replies:

[> Three weeks ago my computer was making a awful sound at times. When I took it in the problem turned out to be a bad driver on my sound card. Drivers are a software fix, not hardware involved. In addition, while they had it they cleaned it where the fan and heatsink are. I got it back within a couple of hours. Back up your files and take it in, it could be something simple. -- Jeanaz8, 13:53:57 08/18/07 Sat [1]
