I use my wireless mouse right on the laptop itself. The way mine is laid out, there is all sorts of space to the right and the left of the touchpad, so I use that blank, flat surface as my "mousepad". I can use the pad, but I would happily go up against anyone testing for speed and agility, mouse v pad. I've been able to use my laptop easily without a mouse, when I've been a passenger in the car on a long trip. My husband dictated a bunch of letters, and I typed. However, if I'd had a wireless mouse at the time, I could have used it as it works on any surface, wobbly or smooth. i use my mouse wherever - lol- sometimes it's on my stomach if I'm laying in bed, or on the mattress beside me. The new ifrareds work on any surface that isn't multicolored. I use it on the endtable or the sofa cushion if I'm downstairs - I love it.
