Subject: Lighthouse Tours

I am a tour guide in the Western Cape, South Africa, and I specialize in lighthouses and assosiated ship wrecks on our coastline.

I am in the process of putting together a Book which brings together lighthouses and shipwrecks. We Have twenty four lighthouse
sites on the Western Cape coastline, some small and some large and as lighthouses go, each has a story to tell.
I am also very intrested in lighthouses around the world, and I am glad I have Found this site.

I would like to here from members and yourselves, your thoughts on visiting lighthouses in South Africa, eg: what you would like to see
on a tour, staying at a lighthouse( we have quite a few which have been equipped with self catering chalets), and general queries.

As a tour guide I have to get permits, and in order to do this I have to have people to show intrest in visiting these areas.
We also trying to make all lighthouse sites self suffient,as we all know with advancing technology the lighthouse is fast becoming obselete.
This is why I am promoting tours of these wonderful landmarks, so we can maintian these buildings for generations to come.

I hope you will come back to me on this issue, and I hope to get as much feedback from members as possible.
