Subject: My Humble Apollogies

In my poorly constructed post regarding the virtues of being pragmatic, I meant to draw a coralary between what should be done post election with campaign promises, and what reality might be allowed to take place.
I never meant, if I did, to suggest anything other than Earl has embraced the reality of the moment and has to a great extent, become a voice for reason.
As another poster noted, Earl does not need me to tell people of his feelings.
Fair enough.
Having said that it should also be noted that I have never heard any of the Selectmen speak to the issue of Eminent Domain in any terms other than unacceptable.
Baxter has never been a proponent only a messenger of what ugliness can take place. Earl M. has never even suggested the idea and Bill Marchand is steadfast in his disgust of the idea as it relates to economic development.
Rt 202 and 44 development will happen. At a glacial pace in our Town, but it will happen. Managing it is the key.
Denying it is a fools chore.

Never in my life have I seen such rancor caused by Mr. Baxter and Mr. Jones in this wonderful little town. Mr. Baxter and Mr. Jones will always be remembered not for the good they have done for this town, but for the divide and rancor they have caused. Shame on you two boys.

With all due respect Mr. Jones….I don’t understand your reasoning that Route 202 will eventually be developed. Why does it need to change at all? Just to keep up with the Jones’ (no pun intended - Torrington/Canton). Why can’t we just relegate this route to remain a beautiful scenic view that NH can be proud of? I for one appreciate your involvement in the betterment of NH but this subject bothers me and it appears to infuriate others. I realize your position on the EDC encourages you to look at this area for development. Don’t you feel a little sad about the lost of that little farm that will now be the location of the new Target store? It’s a shame that Torrington couldn’t find the funds to preserve that area to open space. Your years on the BOS are appreciated by many and thank goodness you still are interested in NH affairs. You have a great many ideas so let’s do something to preserve this area so we may leave our future generations a smidgeon of greenery.
I have fond memories of going for a ride through NH as a child and my grandparents would tell me if the cows were lying down, as the saying goes, it was going to rain. Eventually you will have to take your grandkids to a zoo to see what a farm animal looks like. Please focus on the Route 44 corridor.
