Subject: Jones Mountain trail volenteers needed Saturday!

Hello hikers and folks who enjoy the outdoors!
As many of you know, we have a great system of trails on Jones mountain. Parking and access is on Steele Rd. about one eighth of a mile south on Steele Rd. from the library. If you haven't hiked it yet, I would definitely encourage you experience it. Beautiful trails with great overlooking views of downtown New Hartford and the surrounding area.
As with any trail, there is maintenance required and we are hoping to gather more trail work volunteers to assist in these projects. The work needed includes; cutting brush, clearing leaves from the stone-lined gutters and culverts, and planning for wooden foot bridges to cross wet areas.

We all value our weekends, but any amount of time you could offer would be greatly appreciated! We have had very warm weather this season, and we hope to get some projects done before freezing temps.
This Saturday we will have a work party beginning at 9AM. Temporary signs will lead you into the work area. Please be sure to "check in", and choose a work assignment. We will have a sign up sheet to fill out as required.
Tools to bring; lopers, pruners, bow saws, warm weather-proof clothing, warm gloves (waterproof if possible), lunch, snacks, drinking water.
