It's a Wonderful Newt: ***1/2
There's always time for a Wonderful Life parody, especially with Turturro's excellent Nixon. I liked Farley here as well, but this would have not worked the same had they not have John as the host this episode. Why was Farley screaming in ninety percent of the sketch though? Sad to think Farley wouldn't manage to live in 1998. Additionally, this was the only sketch with Farley in the night. Very rare to see Farley held down to just one appearance in this season, but his schedule with Tommy Boy with Spade was pretty wild at this point, so that explains this sole appearance.

Monologue: *1/2
Kevin Nealon appears as himself as a game show host. The host of the show is either going to be John Turturro or Joey Buttafucco. I liked how this was different, but the questions were extremely weak and it seemed like they really tried to write in Joey Buttafucco somewhere.

About time they had a rerun of an older commercial, though it was probably a bad idea to have a lack of good commercials from last season. There's very few commercials to go to at this point and the ones from this season have managed to be worse.

Christopher Walken's Celebrity Psychic Friends Network: *1/2
Jay brings back his Walken impression for this phone line. This was very quiet and awkward at times (which was the point), both by the cast and the audience. Nothing very special. The first time Jay did this impression was still the best.

Phone Hang-Ups: DUD
Janeane keeps hanging up the phone before John got a chance to talk on the phone.

Weekend Update: *****
Best jokes were: red wine pill.

Mike Myers shows a glimpse of Austin Powers, appearing as Lance Ito, explaining why he appeared on television to begin with.

David Hasselhoff makes an appearance for this Update and Norm has one of his personal best moments on the show with his exchanges with the man beloved by all Germans. Not often in the Norm era where the commentaries are miles better than the jokes.

Taxi Driver - The Musical: **
It seems like half of Kevin's appearances this season have been introducing the upcoming sketch (mostly Court TV). That trend continues here, showing a clip of Taxi Driver - The Musical, starring Turturro as DeNiro. Spade made his second brief appearance of the night and Sandler actually makes his first, just to get the point across how involved they were with their films during this week. The host and supporting cast members, like Mohr and Garofalo are getting more chances than usual this episode.

Spade does make an appearance after the sketch ends to jam out with Tom Petty for a bit.

Stop That: ***1/2
John keeps repeating what Elliott says, which starts off as a joke, but things get rather confrontational toward the end of the show. John was pretty committed to this. Dull ending in Stop That. Should have stopped after Turtorro got mimicked as soon as Elliot came back.

Jamaica Tourism Ad: **1/2
Forgettable ad that starred Ellen and Tim, who have both been underused to start the season.

Dentist Ad 1: DUD
We had two more of these.

The Movie Cub: DUD
Sandler's only starring sketch in the episode and it lacked Farley sadly.

Dentist Ad 2: DUD
This was the corniest thing ever.

Dentist Ad 3: DUD
This was what smelled good in Stinkville.

Episode MVP: John Turturro.
Added emphasis on John with the lack of competition in the cast made this an easy decision. Hasselhoff also gets some recognition for his awesome commentary.

Final Thoughts:
Good rebound from SJP's show, but still five DUDs, including three damn worthless dentist ads.
