Press Conference: **
Why has it taken this long for Ellen's Jocelyn Elders impression to be recurring? This was pretty much the one thing she had going for her after her below-average characters were phased out.

Monologue: ***
Funny monologue for Alec's fifth time hosting. Alec's line about Sinead ripping up the picture was funny. The politically correct version of Canteen Boy was funny as well. This is why Alec constantly gets asked back to the show.

Santa Believers: ***
Baldwin and Nealon both carried Santa Believers. It could have been better though in a different season (as Santa Baby in season 41 proves). I liked how Nealon said they had to buy the presents and the parents weren't believing him.

LA Breast and Penis: 1/2*
Alec plays a doctor, who is an expert in enlarging breasts and penises. Everyone getting tired after running for nearly two minutes was a small laugh, but that part went way too long. It took up just about half the sketch. A few other lines, such as Elliott telling Ellen that she was going to like what happened to her husband proved to be small bright spots in a very poorly put-together sketch.

Japanese Game Show: *****
Why didn't Japanese Game Show lead off after the monologue? A diamond in the rough.

Weekend Update: ****
Norm's best jokes were: passenger/plane crash, Dan Quayle/blood clot, stamp, DUH magazine(!), introduce yourselves(!), Michael Jackson(!), dog cocaine(!).

Rookie Cop: ***
A sketch so infamously bad that it is funny. Norm wasn't even trying when he was throwing up. It was funny that the bags were squirting everywhere and before they started to get sick too. The dress rehearsal version that is online also is pretty funny, especially the scene with Nealon and Elliott hurling on each other.

The Young and the Youthful: DUD
This sketch took forever and I had trouble staying behind it with all the awful non-sequiturs. We are a long way from season fifteen, the first time Baldwin hosted sadly.

Family Road Trip: DUD
Exhibit A why Garofalo and McKean are two of the worst cast members ever.

Exotic Dancer: DUD
I want to pretend Exotic Dancer never happened. This was so disturbing that I wish I can give it two DUDs. Has to be the worst sketch of the season yet.

Celebrity Memorabilia Action: DUD
Chris Elliot should be really unhappy. He was in two DUDs right at the end of the show. Both of them have to go down as some of the worst this season. Oh hi, 90s "friend of the show," Christian Slater.

What happened to Deep Thoughts this season? We could've used some of that earlier on. This one wasn't even as good as they usually were.

Episode MVP: Chris Farley.
Norm nearly won it for his historically good night on Update, but Japanese Game Show (best sketch of the season) was all Farley in a rare moment of triumph this season.

Final Thoughts:
Some actual stretches of watchability this episode, with Japanese Game Show and Weekend Update back to back, but some stretches of unwatchability, due to Chris Elliott at the very end of the show.

Episode Rating with Exotic Dancer as a DOUBLE DUD: 1.71
