Subject: I can't even blame SNL for trying to stay away from doing women sketches after Jan left.

I'm choosing the ones that stand out for me. Granted, it's slim pickings when you want most or all of the female cast from seasons 17 to 20, especially when you want to avoid a Pat sketch from Julia Sweeney.

• Monologue (Walken 18) w/Jan >> http://snlarchives.net/Episodes/?199210242
• Homegirls (O'Donnell 19) >> http://snlarchives.net/Episodes/?1993111314
• Woman's Self Defense Class (Travolta 20) >> http://snlarchives.net/Episodes/?199410159
• Skimpy's Frozen Yogurt (Roseanne 20) >> http://snlarchives.net/Episodes/?199412039

It's a small sample size and I am sure I am missing some, but the point is, the women got very few opportunities to showcase themselves, especially with each other after Jan left. I have to say that only one of those 4 (Walken's classic monologue) can be considered good.

Once Molly, Cheri and eventually Ana joined the cast, SNL was no longer a boys club. I guess that's why they did Leg Up so frequently early on in the 95-96 season (I don't think they did them after this season).
