Subject: Yeah, that Chicken Lady sketch does kinda seem a little like the Robin Byrd sketches
In reply to: Kinda, sorta. 's message, "That Week In SNL podcast is up and running!" on 15:06:15 09/22/17 Fri

...that Cheri would end up doing in the '97-'98 season:

Byrd is a real person who really did have a cable-access sex show in New York in the '80s and '90s (In fact, her show is name-checked in this sketch as airing before The Chicken Lady Show.)

This was indeed the only time Chicken Lady appeared on SNL. Rewatching the episode, I was surprised like you at the recognition applause that the character gets; clearly there were some Kids in the Hall fans in the audience.

Great job on the first episode, this will be fun rewatching this season.
Interesting what would fly back then vs. what would fly today (like Spade's homophobic comments about the Unabomber).
