Creator Don Bellisario calls this "a season of secrets." How so? "Gibbs [Mark Harmon] has been gone," says Bellisario; Gibbs lost his memory and quit NCIS in the season 3 cliff-hanger, "Agent Tony DiNozzo [Michael Weatherly] has taken his place as team leader. Since Gibbs left, he and Shepard [Lauren Holly] have gotten along famously. They'll have an assignment that nobody will know about."

Not secretive enough for you? Try this: "Ziva [Cote de Pablo] is goign to have a secret, Tony is going to have a secret, Tony and Ziva are going to share a secret. Abby has a secret that's not so secret."

Aw, give us just one secret.

"Tony and Ziva are going to look at each other in a differen tlight, and that's all I am going to say."

Okay, fine.

randomly postulating ...

(just on the subject "children", there are several ideas)

and the secrets can either be personal, about another person, or work-related

let's see ...

Ziva could have a child that nobody knows about
and/or she could have a husband nobody knows about, perhaps she thought he had died, or ....

perhaps she has aquired info, either during hiatus or before she came to NCIS, related to someone/something (boy is THAT ambiguous or WHAT, LOL) ... like she finds dirt on Tony or Gibbs ... Nah, I don't think they'd do that ... maybe she has links to groups that nobody knows about

Tony could also have a child out there, perhaps he knew all along or perhaps he found out "accidentally" and isn't part of his child's life

Tony and Ziva could become an item, or at least get together once, and they're hiding it from the team

Perhaps Tony and Ziva share a secret in the literal sense: they each tell each other(share) something that nobody else knows

Tony and the director have an affair (wouldn't that be weird to sleep with the ex-girlfriend of your former boss and current friend)

Ziva had a fling with the director ...

Tony and Ziva share a secret: they both find out about the other's fling with the director ... or they find out Jenny lost Gibb's baby ...

Good grief, I'm turning into a soap opera ... and I don't even WATCH soap operas ...

Abby's not-so-secret secret ... hmmm ... she could have a baby (that wouldn't be secret for very long) ... she could be engaged ... she could get a new boyfriend or become more permanently involved with McGee (weren't they going out, but not exclusively, or did I invent that? LOL)


I think I should stop now, but once you start doing this, and see that ideas can be mixed with any variable and matched to any person, the possibilities are endless, but I suppose they're supposed to make sense with the show and the characters ...
