The Col.Ben Caudill Camp Roster has the following info; Pvt.John Compton Runyon Co.B b.3/8/1833 d. 8/28/1913 m.(1) Arena Bevin in 1852 (2) Laura Maynard in 1894. Enlisted in 13th KY., Sept. 13, 1862 in Whitesburg, Ky., deserted on Sept. 10, 1863. Buried in the Runyou Cemeteru, on the hill across from the mouth of Mudlick Fk. of Pond Creek in Pike Co. Ky.
