Hi dave,

Sorry to hear of you problem with OnRisk and Albion. I had a claim for the total write off of an aircraft for £77,400. in December last year. Initially I was told the claim would be settled in Feb. To get a response from OnRisk took at least five emails and a number of phone calls every time. The responses were always good mannered but vague or simply ignored the content of the email. Eventually the told me to contact Albion directly which according to the FSA they are entitled to do but who wants that from your broker. Albion never responded to any letters sent despite being registered. Eventually I started CCing them to the Nation Microlight Association of Ireland who then got on board. Even then they never replied to me but spoke to them but never in writting as far as I am aware. I then started putting posts up on the Flyer Forum. On Risk threatened them with legal action and the post and the replies were removed. Eventually with a lot of pressure from the NMAI they agreed to settle. But they only gave me €77,400 instead of Sterling which I was insured in. As it is for the common good I presume I can make all the letters available to anyone who is experiencing similar problems as these cowboys need to pushed out of the marketplace. What happens if there is a death or a serious injury. It is highly possible that they will ignore that claim as well. If you Google "Barbados insurance regulator". Its frightening what comes up.
