Subject: The Larsen Brickley Debate

Just got back from the debate. Sad to report it was very low key and civilized. You know, I like rowdy.

Based on the logic of the responses, Ann Brickley won. Larsen certainly looked like more of a politician, but then, he is more of a politician. He reminds me in looks and manerisms of Jubilation T. Cornpone, the blustery politician from Little Abner. I know, that dates me a little.

Ann just went with pure logic. "Gee, Mr Larsen in a recession economy why did you vote for Obamacare, and to raise taxes. I will vote to repeal Obamacare."

Or, "Gee, Mr Larsen, you don't like the term 'career politician,' yet you oppose term limits. I will vote for term limits."

I have never heard more bluster and hot air than I did from Larsen. That guy can take more words to say fewer things than anyone I have seen since Dodd. They even look alike.

Okay, so I am prejudiced. I went in there knowing I would not like Larsen, but I guess I was surprised to see that I agreed with about 20% of what he said, like keeping the troops in Afghanistan.

Also, there were two minor party candidates there, the Green and the Socialist Party. The socialist party was a real wacko socialist who wanted to take over everything and redistribute the money. By profession he was a teacher. Who'da thunk!

The Green Party guy was actually very articulate, and I agreed with about half of what he said. That is remarkable since I think most environmentalists are fruit loops. I wanted to find him after the debate and ask him if he was a vegetarian, but he took off, and I didn't have a chance.

In any event, I do think Ann has a real shot at unseating Larsen. Go Ann! Kick the career politician's butt!
