SRM Your anger impresses me. However I know of not one but 2 developers that would like to put big boxes in New Hartford. Big boxes beget big boxes. Target prefers to develop near Walmart. It seems counter intuitive but it obviously works. Other box stores like to be next to Target and Walmart. The desire to develop the 202 corrider is not in question. Eventually it will be done. Open space is one way to control it. Zoning is another.
The town needs to assess the options and decide which is best.

Whether Philips Farm was a good purchase is a question that is certainly debatable. The creative financin is a the best way to pruchase it if it is to be purchased. I agree with Roy that the best way for you to fight it and stop the next purchase is to get involved. Posting here doesn't help so much. The people who visit here have mostly made up their minds already. You are either talking to a deaf ear or preaching to the chior.

And most importantly get out and vote at the referendum. The OSPC certainly will. Get your likeminded townsfolk out, it is now in the voters hands, where, I believe, it should be. Besides even if the BoS or BoF voted it down it would have ended up in town meeting and referendum anyway through petition. VOTE.
