I have seen absolutely no evidence that there are ANY financial benefits. It appears likely to be a financial cost (and a rather large one at that). If they want to argue that it is worth the money to buy the land (or rights) for aesthetic reasons, then it is one person's opinion vs. another. They are proposing this is revenue positive and have no defensible arguments.

This is also wishful thinking. Open space purchases will shift development, not reduce it. The question is whether or not it will be reduced in New Hartford. The answer is no one knows.

I, for one, don't want precious public dollars spent on such speculative and ill conceived ventures.
