To the previous author regarding whether it's better
for FFR to sing their vocals live when performing to an
audience on TV or in concert -
or would they be better off to mime to their records
Personally I am not interested in live performances or going along
to live shows .. never have been ..
It's the records that have always held my interest.
But I also think it's to an artists benefit that they develop their craft
and abilities if they want to enjoy more than a 2 minute career
and in particular if they want to go out on the road or appear live on TV.
In todays world it's succesful live shows and touring that brings in
the bread and butter for artists .. (big established artists in particular)
records are no longer a great money earner on their own -
but they do work as a promotional vehicle for artists
to then capitalise on with concerts and sponsorship deals etc ..
There's the approach of just making records
and using video as your touring device -
in this case you bypass the need to go out on the road.
This usually works great for producer created entities
because it's a cost effective way of getting records out
and having new artists created.
Not every artist has or wants to be multi-dimentional
and follow the same course as people like
the Rolling Stones or 50 cents.
I've seen many who've gone out into the live performance arena
only to find they fall flat on their face because they don't have
what it takes and the public aren't that forgiving when it comes to
dodgy concerts,
so for some it's probably better to stay home & not worry about it.
As for FFR well it's early days .. they may turn out to have "legs" like Steps ..!
