Subject: MY FIRST APPEARANCE!!!! :-)
Author: Anonymous [Edit]	Date Posted: 14:15:51 07/28/08 Mon Hey Guys!, I just wanted to let everyone know how my first appearance as Miss Georgia Forestry 2008 went. I went to the Forestry Convention in Amelia Island. The resort was AMAZING! It was certainly a vacation for me :-) As soon as I arrived I was escorted to my room and then given a huge basket of chocolate goodies (big mistake)! haha! Then, for the rest of the day my mom and I got to relax by the pool. I attended a dance later that night and got jiggy with a few of the rangers. They sure showed me a thing or two out on the dance floor :-) The next morning I led the Pledge of Allegiance and gave a quick speech. But I must say one of the best parts of the weekend was the food. It was AWESOME! They even had edible flowers. Thank you so much Sharontay Edmuds for being my fabulous chaperone. Also, thank you to Ms. Sharon for being so sweet and giving me such great advice. And a special thank you to Ms. Judy Couch for making my weekend so EXTRAORDINARY. Oh, and thank you too Mom for sitting back and enjoying the weekend with me...I know it was hard :) ha Ms. Dianne, thanks so much for answering all my questions and scheduling my events...You're one SPECTACULAR manager!! Author: Anonymous [Edit]	Date Posted: 14:44:01 07/14/08 Mon Lexie Johnsons little brother, Joshua Cade Johnson, age 4, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. For those of you that don't know what that is, it is a horrifingly deadly cancer, and they have only given this sweet boy a 30% chance of survival. This family needs all of our prayers. He has just undergone surgery to remove the tumor, a weeks worth of radiation treatments and x-rays and every other test under the sun, and then 5 straight days of chemotherapy. He then will have to have chemo every 21 days until a hopeful blessed remision. He is only 4 years old. Amanda, Bobby, Lexie, Brady and Especially you Cade, please know that you are all in our prayers. Put Cade in Gods hands and all is possible. Lord, please send your angels down to watch over this little boy. Help him get through these next months of chemotherapy and surgery, and know that we know Your Will is best. The Judges Forum and Training sponsored by the Georgia Forestry Pageant will be held on August 16, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the American Legion Home in Tifton, Georgia. If you are interested in becoming a judge, we would love to have you join us. You will be put on our judges list for 2008-2009 and will be eligible to judge upcoming Local Forestry Pageants, and will have the opportunity to judge many other pageants as well.

We are in the process of approving Local Forestry Pageants and Local Directors for 2008-2009. If you are interested in becoming a Local Director or would like to see a Forestry Pageant held in your county email me at missgaforestry@yahoo.com

If you would like to see some changes in the Local Forestry Pageants or the State Forestry Pageants email me at missgaforestry@yahoo.com or call me in the evenings at 229-386-2681. I would love to hear your ideas. The Local Directors will be meeting on August 16th and I would love to have our contestants' input, so please feel free to call me and I will be glad to share your ideas with our Local Directors. We will be celebrating our 70th Anniversary in 2009 and it will be the best pageant ever!!

I have a few pageant dresses i'm wanting to sale.
Anyone interested?
I have 2 of the dresses on myspace pics in "dresses for sale".
I also have 3 white ones(a one shoulder, a strapless,and a halter),
a blue one(can be worn strapless or with rhinestone straps),
a dark purple(for girl age 10-12;2 piece, with rhinestone straps),
a black velvet(strapless with lime green underneath),
and i have a claire's collection light purple(strapless). I'm not sure of all the sizes but if you are interested just call,email,or message me and i can let you know!
I also have a lime green interview suit for sale.

Lauren Stansell former Teen Miss Decatur and former Teen Miss Early County Forestry Queen's father has been rescued. I have been wanting to post this for several days, but just got where I could. Lauren competed in Teen Miss Georgia Forestry several times placing first runnerup prior to going off to school. Around five and a half years ago Lauren's dad was held as a hostage in a Colombian jungle. They did not know for a long time if her dad was even alive. I along with several Forestry family members have been praying for Lauren's family and keeping up with her. I know she is one happy young lady right now. For those that remember Lauren, know she is an incredible young lady. Lauren, I just want you to know how happy I am that you are getting your daddy back. You all can keep up with the breaking news on CNN. Malia, please keep me posted.

I hope everyone has gotten some rest. I know I was exhausted! I want to thank everyone for helping make the pageant such a success!

I want to thank April, Angie, Bobbie, Lacey, Dawn, Bobbie, Michelle, and all the men and women who helped make all our contestants so pretty!

I want to thank all the Directors who were there to support their girls! The girls were all awesome. I believe this was the prettiest and sweetest group of contestants that we've had in a long long time.
Thank you all for supporting each other, that's what pageants should be about.

To my Tift County Queen Amy Taylor and her mom Elaine thank you so much for helping me put up posters and helping with the front the first weekend! I love you guys and you made Tift County so proud!!

Thank you to my state queen moms Melissa and Sandy, I couldn't have made it without you. You were there for me during the past year and at state as well. I am going to miss the both of you so much. I hope you will continue to be a Forestry Judge on the local level and hopefully become a director. I love you ladies!

To our 2007 Miss Georgia Forestry Queens, Laura, Emerald, Brittany, Madison, Amber Brooke, Yasmin, and Ava. I love you all! Thank you to Laura, Emerald, Madison, and Amber Brooke. I don't think you all missed hardly any appearances. I really appreciate you being there and upholding your duties as Miss Georgia Forestry. I had so many compliments on you and I love all of you and Georgia loves you too! I know you all will go far and I hope to see you all gracing the Miss Georgia Forestry stage again in the future!

I want to thank our judges for both weekends. They had a tough job in selecting our 2008 Miss Georgia Forestry Queens. I had the opportunity to meet with all our newly crowned queens on Sunday, June 22nd. I believe, we have an awesome group of queens to work with this upcoming year. Miss Georgia Forestry April Hollingsworth will be traveling to Amelia Island in July. She will be a special guest at the Georgia Forestry Association's Annual Meeting on Amelia Island. She will also be attending her orientation soon at the Georgia Forestry Commission in Macon.

To all our 2008 Miss Georgia Forestry Contestants...any of you in my eyes could have won the crown. You all were so pretty and you all did a great job. Just remember, never give up on your dreams...next time could be your time. Thank you to the parents for allowing us to spend this time with you and your daughters. I know that each one of them are special to me.

A note in closing....

The National Forestry Pageant will be held on August 30th. Any contestant who competed in a Local Forestry Pageant in Georgia or who competed at Miss Georgia Forestry is eligible to compete at the National Forestry Pageant. We hope you all will join us! You all have a chance at the National Forestry title! Email me at usnationalforestrypageant@yahoo.com if you are interested or contact your local director.

Teen and Miss Contestants arrived today. Beautiful, Beautiful girls, our judges have their work cutout for them. Saturday is going to be a show that you don't want to miss, come on out and join us! The girls have all worked very hard and it shows! Our reigning Miss Georgia Forestry Queens are shining! Laura, Emerald, Madison, Amber Brooke, Brittany, and Yasmin are having the time of their life and they hate to give their titles up and we hate to see them give them up! I love you girls!

The girls had a fun time today! They were honored with a parade with the cutest decorated cars that I have ever seen. They toured the Georgia Agrirama and attended a welcome reception put on by the City.

I want to wish them all the best of luck as they begin their interviews in the morning.

I will try and post tomorrow night, but it will be late because tomorrow night we have our formal dinner dance.

Teen Miss Competition at 4:00 P.M.

Miss Competition at 7:00 P.M.

Tift County High School Performing Arts Center
Tifton, Georgia

Come join us as we crown our 69th Annual Miss Georgia Forestry Queens!

Good Luck to all the contestants. Drive safely and remember to smile, make friends, and have loads of fun.

The contestants will arrive in the morning with Teen Miss rehearsals at 11:00 A.M. and Miss rehearsals at 1:00 P.M.
They will be honored with a motorcade at 2:45 p.m., tour the Geogia Agrirama at 3:00 P.M. and honored with a reception at the Georgia Agrirama at 5:00 P.M. This all happening tomorrow.

Friday, we will begin interviews, at 2:00 P.M. the Miss will join the Georgia Forestry Commission on a treefarm tour, and Friday night, the all fabulous formal ball with a live DJ. The girls and directors will have a chance to dance their hearts out. You will even get to see Mrs. Connie dance! On Saturday, we will continue interviews and the final pageant with the crowning of Teen and Miss Georgia Forestry.

National Pageant Wear For Sale!

Size 4-6 t dress and swimwear made by Joan Anderson. Both are gorgeous in person and pictures do not do them justice. The dress is loaded with stones and won best dress many times. It is in excellent condition with no rips tears, tan stains, and all stones are intact. Comes with choker, number pin and earrings. Swimwear has only been worn 3 times!
