Correct you should compete with quality, not prices, but I understand you want in the door. I think that most people worry about items getting to the destination in one piece and not so much as the price. Id rather pay a little more and know my things are in good hands than to pay less and worry. In most cases if the price was an issue they would call in the first place. I will keep ears open for you im in the oilfield good luck!

Help me out. I've got a 16ft air boat hull that I plan on building a motor for. I have a couple of 396's in the garage and a 427 tall deck to choose form. I've found a 540 stroker kit for the 427 to build a torque monster but really dont know it I should be leaning on hp over tq or to other way around. It Hp is the key them maybe the 396 is the way to go. Whaddda think????

Have a ? for all the diesel power hunters. I have an 04.5 Dodge 2500 diesel and it currently does not have a cat or muffler which is very loud. I liked the loud exhaust at first but now would like to get rid of the "droun" that it makes. I want some advise on a strong sounding muffler. I have researched a little and found some mufflers have a hard time getting rid of the "droun" in the exhaust. Anyone know of a good sounding muffler? Banks, Magnaflow, MBRP, ?????????

get a resonator and put it inline with you exhaust. Cost about $80 and was the best money I spent on my 24v cummins after I put a straight pipe and 7in stack kit on it. I can now carry a converstion with the passenger. Got mine at FTEdiesel.com

Motor is fresh from the wop shop ready to go, all fuel is plumbed with regulators. motor has been 5.80's on 27 jet and 50/50 on the plate. 7000.00 o.b.o.!

Also Eliminator premier BBF block with most of machine work done(bored to 4.600,clearanced for 4.750" stroke,lifter bore bushings,roller cam bearings,and more), c-460 bare castings with single plane cast intake, Moroso fabricated covers, danny bee belt drive, CSR water pump, Moroso wet sump fabricated pan with turbo drain fittings, MSD billet dist. and crank trigger,ARP head studs, would like to keep these parts together as a package for 7500.00! but may consider seperating if block sells. Don't know if this 'ol heap of a Ford is gossip worthy or not but I thought you may want to check it out anyway. Jason Wade is the owner of the car I've been helping him out a little with it for the past few years and it's finally come together. It's a '68 Falcon Futura, SBF with twin 91's we're planning on bebuting the car at The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia and then we'll be bringing it home to HMP! We would like to thank Rick Stevens for the awesome chassis and David Reese for all the work he did finishing the car and we'd also like to remember the late Gary Mcphearson for his contributions. With any luck we'll see ya'll at HMP first part of March! Tracy High

Jason and Tracey the car is looking good! For all of you that don't know this car, it is extremly nice. I watched this car being built at Rick Stevens shop over the past year and everything on the car is top notch. The inside of this car ( Chassis ) is flawless and looks like it came off the show room floor. Goodluck guys in Georgia and I hope you all the testing goes well.

The "Art Carr" company in Texas that now owns the name has a horrible reputation for quality. The real Art Carr currently runs California Performance Transmission and has the same great reputation he has had for decades. I have run a Th400 and converter from CPT before and was very happy with it. If you have any concerns you can get Art himself on the phone without much trouble but his sales staff there is very knowledgeable as well.

I am currently running 2 holley blue fuel pumps fed by a rear mounted cell. The car has a sbf and spraying up tp 300 shot on a plate kit. I was thinking of installing a BG 280 pump in place of the 2 holley blues. Would the 280 be enough pump?

dont know the actual gph for the BG but a blue w/stock spring is only about 70-85gph x2 =170,,call it 200,,i think the BG would still have that covered,probably like 250 for the BG... Right guys?

THE BLUE PUMPS ARE RATED AT 110 GPH, PROBABLY CLOSER TO 85-90 GPH LIKE TRYAN SAID.

A FUEL PUMP CAN NOT REACH POTENTIAL RATED OUTPUT IF PLUMBED WRONG. DO NOT USE A 90 DEGREE FITTING ON THE SUCTION SIDE.

The car has a Barry Grant 280 pump. It had an older Holley regulator on it that wasnt holding. I ordered a Barry Grant regulator, instructions said it was set at 7 psi so I didnt touch it. Hooked everything up turned the fuel pump on and wham it pegged the gauge at 15 psi blowing gas past the needle and seat. Shut it down adjusted it back to where I thought it should be and got it around 9psi, started the car and set it at 7 psi, still leaking past the needle and seat so i pulled them a cleaned them w/ carb cleaner and they sealed. i drove the car the next day to a local car show and it ran great. I started it last night and wham...it pegs the gauge again and blows past the needle and seat. I am at a loss...any suggestions?

IF YOU USED TEFLON TAPE FOR THE INSTALL, THATS A NO-NO IN A FUEL SYSTEM... THE TEFLON BREAKS UP AND ACTS AS TRASH.. USE TEFLON PASTE OR ANY PIPE "DOPE"~

The Barry Grant regulator is the problem. I had the same problem on my s10 a few years back. It filled the motor up with fuel while I was flowing the nitrous. It would peg the needle you could hit it then it would work for a minute then do the same thing again. I switched to a magnafuel and never looked back. I would try another regulator.

Had same prob with new BG 2 port regulator, sent it back got another did same thing. So I put it back in the box and wrote it off as a loss,put a mallory back on it prob solved.

I WOULD THINK BY NOW THE DESIGN FLAW WOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED BUT PROBABLY NOT. BEST I CAN REMEMBER IT IS YOUR INLET FITTING THAT CAN CAUSE THE PROBLEM. SOME FITTING CAN SCREW DEEPER INTO THE HOUSING AND WILL FICK UP THE REGULATING SPRING.

BARRY GRANT SELLS JUNK IN MY VIEW- THEY WOULD BE MY LAST CHOICE IF I COULDN'T FIND TWO ROCKS TO RUBB TOGETHER! I WOULDN'T USE THEIR SHIT TO KILL SNAKES WITH, I RESPECT SNAKES MORE THAN THAT AND I HATE SNAKES!

My car is hard to start when hot, cold start no problem. has 383 with 9.5 to 1, afr 195 heads, hyd roller cam. Pump gas. Is it a timing issue? havent checked timimg yet. Could the starter needs shims? thanks

Tried to send this earlier from my cell, but it didn't work. Before you buy a new starter I would recommend checking the wiring going to the starter. If it passes between the exhaust manifold and the engine block then the wires may be breaking down when the motor warms up. I actually experienced this on a previous vehicle and changed the starter 7 times before figuring it out. We installed a relay to help boost the signal to the starter and that seemed to help. A lot cheaper than replacing the starter.

While i don't doubt that what you did worked, a relay cannot "boost" signal. most likely, i am guessing you had a GM and bypassed the solenoid on the starter (jumpered it)and put an external (Ford) solenoid on the circuit. all that did was allow more current off the battery cable to "weak" solenoid in place on the starter with the new external solenoid providing the new contact point.
so essentially you did boost the weaker solenoid, but it is not a signal thing, it is a current thing, and eventually the solenoid on the starter will go out at some point. most likely, the problem with the hot start is the solenoid is becoming more resistive and the amount of current supplied by the ign wire to the solenoid is not high enough to fully engage the field of the coil for maximum starter efficiency. also, do a current test on the positive wire when it is cold and then hot to see if it is trying to draw more current under hot starting conditions, that will indicate if the starter is failing due to heat.

You may be correct. I personally did not do the work but remember the conversation so more may have been done. You are correct that more current was sent through the wiring to the solenoid to help the wires from breaking down from heat. I also remember at least one of the wires being replaced as well. It was a GM but a ford soleniod did not end up on the truck. That part I know for a fact. I do remember a relay being added and the cool thing is I ended up being able to turn the motor over from the engine compartment like a race car if needed. LOL!!!

Thank you all for your input, I will borrow a ampmeter from work and check the draw both hot and cold. And also check the grounds and starter mount for grease or paint.

If it does draw more when hot, whats the remedy ? High torque starter or a wrap around blanket instead of heat sheild? I really dont want to do a remote solenoid.

I would assume some new wiring to the starter or maybe some type of heat resistant wrap. I was able to use the stock starter in my situation.

1n factory firing order (18436572) 5 and 7 are following each other in both cycly and ignition timming causing extreme cyl pressures on the head gasket,i.e. blowing it!

TurboCare on the southside(Beltway 8 between 59 and 288) It's a huge operation(worldwide)but they mostly service industrial applications. Don't know if that helps.

I did a lot of research on them last year and what I found is they had some quality issues when they first came out but have since improved. Everything I read also said to buy the bare castings and put good valves, springs, etc on them and you will be fine. I ended up buying a pair off ebay but have not run them yet.

Hell John Harrison has been doing this and doing it very well since Moby Dick was a minnow! And there really is no substitute for experience. If when the car drops back down 400-500 ft out and the front spring was stiffer or the front shock was set stiffer it would not have as much bounce up at that point. Also 400-500 ft out the MPH of the wind/air would put additional down force on the front end helping hold it down. How do you like me now.

First off, maybe this is the kind of shit we need to get some ppl riled up to race again. Not sure who filmed it, but I like it. On to racing, first off I never said I would give Suitcase the back tires and the move, pretty good editing you did there, but I was referring to the Silver car. Not giving any 114mm car with a 400+ inch motor nothing, especially when its on "W's". Now as for Dewight's car and the Silver car, we offered the back tires, you guys didnt want to do anything that night cause the track was slick. I understand that, and am not gonna make anybody run there car down the track if they feel uncomfortable..They could only wish that thing went some 4.80's....it's never saw a 4.xx anything! Now talking the back half numbers, once again we were talking the nitrous car vs. turbo car. A turbo car is going to backhalf harder than any nitrous car, so not sure were those numbers came from. Yall want a guarantee win, and thats not gonna happen, definitely dont mind gambling as long as we got a chance, but not gonna hand you a DAMN thing.....My car is down still, but will be ready shortly for the start of the season.

By no means is the Grey car scared of White Mustang. Remember when the yellow car pulled onside of him, if he was scared, he would have waited until the yellow car made his pass, then he would have took off� The White car can't compare to the yellow car, so no need to be scared. First off, Kenjo would be the last person that I would hate on give when I first started working on Turbo�s he would answer my questions and not treat me as if I were some kind of dumbass. Yes, a progressive controller will do what you need. Can set it for say 30% nos at the hit bringing it back to 100% at a SET TIME (SAY 1.5 SECONDS) into the pass...The Edlebrock Controller #71900 is recomended by Herzog @ Arrow Machine....

hey stupid glidden fan in ADRL you have to race for the world championship not show up to every race. here are the rule....stupid fucker

Drivers in all four professional classes began earning points at the 4th annual LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals October 24-25, 2008 and will do so thru the Flowmaster DRAGSTOCK VI September 11-12, 2009.

At the completion of the Flowmaster DRAGSTOCK VI September 11-12, 2009, the top eight in the points standings in each of the four professional classes will be seeded into four separate eight car / motorcycle fields and put on ladders.

Number one will race number eight, number two will race number seven and so on. Those three rounds, which will determine our 2009 ADRL World Champions, will be run under the lights on Friday night October 23, 2009 at the 5th annual LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas.
