Mmm...could use a good dose of Jude myself right about now.

Went to Bocktoberfest this Saturday--got another lovely layer on my tan, but all in all, the day was a bust. It wasn't the show, it was just me (well, it was their first time to have the fest at this venue and they've got a LOT of kinks to work out). I started the morning with a cold shower (my water heater broke), a mocha in which they forgot the mocha (and I think the coffee too, but by the time I had my first drink, I was already on the road), the first few acts weren't really my thing (though a couple of beers helped), but the sun was out and it was hot (why always on festival weekends? why? it's been so pretty lately, nice and cool) and I don't think I had enough water because by about four or so, I was nearly falling asleep and my head was killing me. I finally gave up after eight hours and left in the middle of Staind (one of the most elaborate drum sets I have ever seen, and the lead singer was nothing like I expected). The one high point of the day was Kenny Wayne Shepherd--OMG, the kid is a fucking genius on guitar. He's only in his twenties but plays like Jimi Hendrix. The whole band was great--the lead singer had the perfect blues voice (though the music was more Southern Rock with occasional blues hints thrown in). They were all a bunch of grungy twenty-something year olds, so of course I adored them. Kenny, though, man, what I wouldn't give to have him locked up in my room all night. Wow.

But anyway, nearly lost it on the way home--I was really suffering by then from my headache and the aspirin wasn't working, I was seriously PMSing, and I was just waiting for a cop to pull me over for speeding, but damnit, I just wanted to get home! There I had another cold shower because the fuckwits didn't come and fix the water heater though I'd asked them to, so I called the complex office and left a rather unhappy message--I was so strung out by then that I can't imagine how I sounded, but it can't have been pretty. And then Sunday I got up (headache still in tact), went out to play tennis, and sometime around three they came to fix the water heater--took all of FIVE minutes. That was it. Couldn't they have done that on Saturday??????????? Basically, it was a crappy-ass weekend and I'm still trying to get over my lack of sleep and I just want to start smacking people. Anyone will do. And I didn't get my laundry done because I was too tired so I need to do that tonight, though I doubt I will. I'll probably just fall into bed and bury my head under the covers and curse the world till I fall asleep.

Wow. I'm not happy am I? Didn't realize it till I looked through all that. Damn. Sigh...
