Subject: Morning Miss V! How are you?

Day two was much better. Still hotter than hell and though I had sunscreen on, I think I still got a little burnt. I haven't checked yet. Saw one person collapse, though I'm sure there were more. It was nasty out. I think I've finally gotten then hang of this thing--I just have to choose the ones I want to see most and realize I can't see them all. But that works. Anyway, saw New Monsoon, Endochine, some gospel group (the stage had stands, so I mainly sat and watched to have a place to sit). Then saw Modest Mouse where these dumbass kids (I think they were in high school) were not even bothering to hide the joint and pipe they were smoking. I mean, I know a lot of people were smoking--and I mean A LOT--but to so do while standing along the main aisle where people are walking back and forth is just begging to get caught. Then saw My Morning Jacket. Then Marcia Bell (think she's local). Then went to see G. Love & Special Sauce. While waiting for that to start, got to hear quite a bit of Trey Anastasio--wish I'd gone to hear him while waiting. He was awesome from where I was sitting. Then heard The Pixies while waiting to catch the shuttle back to the car. A pretty full day. :)

Bought a hat--a straw cowboy sort of hat which I absolutely love because it was so damn hot out and it provided a wonderful amount of shade.

Oh, and remember the dark-haired guy, the one who was in some Shakespeare play, we hung out with during the Jet concert in San Antonio? I think I saw him there. I was going to say hi, but lost him in the Modest Mouse crowd.

So it was fun. Can't wait for tomorrow! (Also because I'm exhausted and can only handle one more day of this, LOL.)

getting dealers than getting normal people haveing a smoke thank goodness:0) They did have sniffer dogs at V but I think they were looking for 'faces' who are known to be dealers. Put it this way I didn't get sniffed at!! so jealous of your hat, that's just what I wanted but couldn't find one that suited me:0(

[> [> I think ours were probably more worried about underage drinking, or at the very least, catching all the people who collasped. The festival sold out (75,000 people in that tiny park!) and on Saturday alone, 125 people reported for heat exhaustion and four had to be taken to the hospital. People just weren't being careful -- Dhvana, 09:48:36 09/20/04 Mon

The people was that even though they had a lot of space to work with, they closed quite a bit of it off and crammed us all into just a small portion of the park. -- Dhvana, 10:27:05 09/20/04 Mon
