Bebe isn't the only one who has a problem with the word. I read an article about Swingos Celebrity Motel circa the 70's (it appeared in the Plain Dealer in 2001), and Christine Boris is quoted as saying she was "never a groupie". I wonder how many other women listed as groupies on this site tell everyone they aren't groupies? I do think it's silly, especially when you spent all your teens and twenties either chasing rockstars or putting yourself in an obvious position to be pursued by them, and everybody knows it!
