Subject: Playtime! - Part 2-Sierra

How
did all of this paint get on the floor?.” Asked Nicole in a very puzzled manner. “I don’t have a clue!”. Gasped Anja “the minute I turned my back, all the paint was knocked to the floor. I didn’t touch a thing!” “I know what might have happened.”, guessed Nicole. “The wind must have knocked it all down.” “How could it?”, asked Anja as they both continued cleaning. “The window is not opened.” “Maybe it could have opened the window and closed it back.” They both started to laugh at the silly theory. When they finished cleaning, the two of them walked back to their desk to catch up on the day’s tasks. At lunch, Anja and the rest of her friends continued to excitedly discuss Prissy Anne. “I can’t believe your mom and dad got you the doll!”, cried one girl. “I heard she is very expensive. “That doll is not all that.”, Replied another girl. After she made the remark, a moment of silence entered the area. “How can you say that Prissy is not all that?”, cried Nicole. “Yeah every girl loves Prissy!”, cried Anja. “She’s just a doll! She can’t talk or move, all she does is sits there while you do the work; just like Barbie. “You’re just mad you don’t have a Prissy Anne doll!”, snapped one girl. “Get real!”, cried the girl “ I have every Barbie known – Ballerina Barbie, Teacher Barbie, Life guard Barbie, Doctor Barbie, Christmas Barbie, Millennial Barbie, Belle of Beauty and the Beast Barbie. I even have the corvette, doll house, winnebago, life-sized Barbie, Ken and even Skipper! So I am not mad because I don’t have a precious Prissy! I don’t want her because she is not all that!” Suddenly the girls sitting at the table became very quiet once again. But a minute later, all (including Anja) mobbed her with questions. “SO do you have all her clothes that goes with all the Barbies?”, asked one girl. “Can you wear life-sized Barbie’s clothes?”, asked Anja. Question after question came about all at once as the girl sat still looking very cool and calm. After the bell rang, recess started. Amja immediately rushed to grab prissy. Out on the playground, 7 and 8 year old girls from both Anja’s class and others, swarmed the doll in her hands. It was as though Anja was a star. Little noisy girl voices filled the air as they all tried to touch and grab Prissy. Seeing the sea of girls instantly attracted the boys as well. The same two boys from the school bus earlier that morning, managed to grab Prissy and throw her around to the other boys. Panicked shrieks from girls filled the air. “Give it back!” , demanded one girl. “Give me back my doll!”, yelled Anja while trying to catch it with the other girls. Prissy was tossed from side to side around the playground as the girls proceeded to catch her. The playground seems like a football field as voiced filled it. Prissy landed in the sandbox. Amja immediately ran to grab her as she and one of the boys had a small tug-o-war going. Sand quickly dashed into the boy’s eyes causing him to scream. The playground soon became very silent with nothing heard except for the screaming pains from the boy. A teacher ran to his aid taking him to the school nurse. “Alright back to class!” cried one teacher authoritively as other teachers agreed. Moans of disappointment cam from the students as they headed back to their classes. While in class, Miss Jensen called Anja to her desk. “You can no longer have recess for the rest of the week and you have detention after school. Throwing sand in someone’s eyes is not the way to resolve a conflict.” Scolded Miss Jensen. “But Miss Jensen!”, cried Anja in a shocked tone. “All I did was pull my doll’s arm! I didn’t touch any sand.” “Other students said you thrown sand in toe boy’s face.” Cried Miss Jensen. “That’ not true!”, cried Anja immediately. “Ok”, said Miss Jensen while standing up from her desk. “Let’s ask them.” She asked the students in her class one by one and they all said yes. Even her best friend Nicole nodded her head yes in a very timid fashion. Anja dropped her mouth in shock. “I didn’t!”, she cried.
Returned to your seat.” Replied Miss Jensen. Anja slowly walked to her seat sad and confused. During the rest of the week, mischievous things happened. Broken crayons, glued seats, worms in the teacher’s desk, opened hamster cage. The two hamsters were found in the school kitchen which horrified the cafeteria workers. These situations all pointed to Anja. But worst of all, she was given a grad of ‘F’ on both her weekly spelling and math tests. It was very unusual because she would always receive no less than a ‘B’.

This was the icing on the cake to her parents’ anger. “You study every week Anja! A ‘F’? A ‘F’? Where was your mind child?” snapped her mother while looking frustrated. “We help you study, you made no less than a ‘B’ every week. So What happened?”, she father asked in a mildly scolding way. “This is so unusual, and that’s why we are giving you another chance.” Scolded her mother. But if another mishap happens from you young lady, then say good-by to TV, radio, computer, outside time, and even pageants for 3 months! Now I want you to study for next week’s test as of now. Anja continued sitting quietly on her bed as her parents walked out of the room. She continued sitting quietly with the mixed emotions of being puzzled, angry, and sad. She flopped down from the bed to her desk by the computer to study.
