Subject: Competition Dates for next year

Just a comment re dates of competitions. I realise there are lots of variables to work around and a lot of effort if put into organising the competitions, but can I suggest that dates like Mothers and Fathers day possibly be left free of competitions next year. These dates can be very special to a lot of people and can clash with other events. Thanks.

and how come we no longer have anything much after nationals apart from the feis? up to a few years ago we usually had an end of year one in November which was a good wind down, November would be a good time for another Feis Dubh I reckon, I really enjoyed that last time! - maybe cos there are end of year/ncea/uni exams for a lot of dancers? and i think quite a few schools do shows so concentrate on that in the last term. plus transfer bans for a few people, some take time off to let injuries heal now... i think a feis at this time of year wouldn't be that well attended.   - you might be right, i just wish we had ore here, i remember a few years ago when I first started we had heaps of competitions from march right up to the national feis, now we are lucky to get 3 a year (aoart from nationals and feis which not everyone does) (NT) -- dancer (it's the novice and prelims who miss out :-(), 16:44:17 10/22/09 Thu

it'll be the weekend before the aussie champs start - their dates aren't out but i think ours will probably end up 25th & 26th september which is the first weekend of school holidays again (NT) -- that's my guess anyway, 01:59:04 10/22/09 Thu
