Subject: help, caught a flying squirrel that's been in my attic

we recently retrieved from our attic a Northern flying squirrel. We caught him in a have a heart trap. and it's currently living in there. Not sure what to do with it at this point, would rather not kill it or set it outside in the frigid weather...so for now its in the trap. we were wondering if we should keep it until the spring and if so what should we put it in? is it possible to tame it...it doesn't appear to be too nervous around us as we go about our daily business..we have a turkey baster as the water spout and been feeding it crackers and bird seeds, gave it some paper towel for bedding.

Any suggestions, help appreciated.

Hi Christine,
A friend of my Husbands found a flyer that had been snatched from a tree by their cat. They asked us to keep it for them until they came home from vacation. That was two years ago and I have to tell you, these have been the most enjoyable two years of our lives. You wouldn't believe how much entertainment she is for us. She has the most loving personality and is a hoot to watch some of the things she does. Please don't kill this loving creature that has come into your life. They are no trouble at all. They sleep all day and only get up a few hours at night. They eat very little, don't make any noise, and they don't smell up your house like a dog or cat. Everyone loves her. I had to make 60 Christmas cards this year because I made one with her on it and when my friends and co-workers saw it , they all wanted one. I hope you will consider keeping the one you found. If you don't, I hope you will let it free or find a good home for it. :)
