Subject: I need help with "regular" squirrels!

Hi,
I'm about out of options now and I happened across this website. We have a cane field that is small about 200 sq. ft. and the squirrels are chewing down the stalks. They don't even eat them! I have checked into all forms of ways to get them to stay out of the cane, but so far can't find anything that may work. My husband is about to loose patience with them and me at this point. Any suggestions? I love watching them and felt sorry for a couple of them who showed up, now I must have a 100 or so. I live in the Ocala National Forest with all 365k acres, so why my cane?
