Subject: Addams flea solution, marked to be safe for kittens, can be ...
In reply to: Chase 's message, "i think that my fs has fleas" on Thursday, June 17, 10:14:17am

(Addams flea solution, marked to be safe for kittens, can be ...) used for flyers, but DO NOT SPRAY it on. Saturate a cotton swab or ball, and apply the solution sparingly, against the hair growth. When Molly Kule came to me, she had what is called a 'fly strike' - flies had laid eggs on her coat. I found the best way to remove them was to comb them out, over a sink full of soapy water (I used Dawn dishwashing detergent), using an eyelash comb (you can get one very cheaply, at any discount drug store ...). Manual removal of fleas is highly recommended, over using solutions, for all solutions carry some threat. (If it kills bugs, it can kill a flyer, too. Addams just is the safest of many other products - but not as safe as just removing the fleas and the flea eggs by hand ...)

If you're not already a member, I would suggest you contact the National Flying Squirrel Association, and I would recommend you address inquiries to them, if you need fast replies from experienced flyer owners and breeders.
