OK due to the lack of connectivity to IRC here's how to setup mIRC so it will go through all the servers on DALnet till it connects.

First goto the FILE menu then to OPTIONS. Expand the CONNECT option (the little + symbol in a box) and a menu will branch off with Options, Local Info etc.

Click back on the CONNECT option without closing the branch off, now on that screen is your connect name and the type of IRC server your connecting to. It may say 'Random US DALnet server' in a box, a few basics first: DALnet is a collection of seperate computers or 'servers', that connect you to the other servers which enable you to chat. Click the drop down menu (downwards pointy arrow) and scroll down till you see a large collection of names all beginning with DALnet, an example 'DALnet: AS, MY, Coins' AS is the country, MY the state and Coins is the servers name on the network. Click the FIRST DALnet server at the top and then click on OPTIONS from the expanding menu under CONNECT. There should be a new set of options and buttons, click on RETRY... Enable connect retry should be ticked, set 'not connected' to 45 secs, 'retry connection' to 99 and 'retry delay' to 3. Finally tick the TRY NEXT SERVER IN GROUP to enable it to move to another server. Click OK to clear that menu and OK again to accept the changes and to exit the OPTIONS menu.

Now when you try and can't connect to one server in that group, it will automatically try another server and keep rotating till you get on one.
