Subject: Hey Darlin'!! How are things up your way? I had one of those funny conversations last night in which you end up, completely unexpectedly, talking about Russell, LOL!! (see inside)>>>>>

It has been overcast here in the am but nice in the pm.... Like Angeleno too much work etc.. but like everone else.. this is still home! so a big wave to you all." on Sunday, June 27, 12:46:01pm

As you know, our offices are now down in Westwood Village, rather than up on the campus proper. There is a little parking lot the side of the building, where I've been parking my car for some time now. I've gotten to be quite friendly with Miguel, the young man who mainly manages the parking lot. Miguel is 30-ish and moved here from Mexico. He is a very nice person, and is working very hard to improve his English and likes to talk to me to practice. Last night we ended up talking about movies for the first time (prompted by all the hoopla going on down the street for the first midnight showing of the new Spider Man). I asked Miguel what kinds of movies he likes, and he said he doesn't like the comic book and fantasy movies too much because they don't have good enough stories. He likes movies to have good stories and to engage your mind, not just mindless action. He asked me who my favorite actor is, LOL!! And you can imagine where the conversation went from there, LOL!!

Miguel didn't recognize Russell's name (?!!) so I asked if he had seen Gladiator, since that was the movie I thought he might be familiar with. He didn't know which movie that was at first, but when I started describing it, he recognized it right away. He said, "Oh yes. Of course!" I told him that Russell was the actor who played Maximus, and he understood right away. And then he said, "Oh yes! I know him. My wife really likes him." I, of course, busted out laughing, LOL!! I told him that lots of us ladies like Russell, and Miguel nodded sagely at that. I told him to tell his wife that he now knows another Russell fan, LOL!! And since he says he likes movies with good scripts, I sent him away with the names of LA Confidential and The Insider to rent (he also likes Al Pacino, so I thought The Insider was a good bet. And if his wife likes Russell, she should definitely see LAC, LOL!!)

It just goes to show that you never know where you're going to find another Russell fan, LOL!!
