two main factors: 1) the record deal with Artemis and 2) the fact that all the other members of TOFOG have other pressing musical or related interests outside of the band. Record companies sign bands to gain exposure, increase record sales, and ultimately, make a profit. What better way to achieve this can having them headline for a major established act? Yes, we as the loyal die-hards we are, would LOVE to see a return to the Stubbs days of yore, to the TOFOG-only gigs that were such great meeting places as well as excellent shows. There will be a few of these now, I understand, but not like before. For me, Jan/Feb are very hard months to schedule time off{ it's much easier to get time off in summer months, and plus coming right after the Christmas season, funds will be a factor. I think from their standpoint, this kind of tour is the only viable alternative. Russell's day job is paramount and so they have to tour when he's available. Naturally, many of the long-time fans will have to skip this go-round but hopefully they will pick up new fans along the way.
