I know this is an old post mate.....but just to let you know, There's a bike shop near where I work that used to have a room full of Mk1 and Mk2's up until recently.
All that's left now are a mint mk2 S.E. (1000!) AND......a chrome Mk1 with black stickers and a different gearshift....(700!) both bikes are immaculate....I'd never seen a chrome mk1 before and questioned it with the shop owner, but it does indeed sound like the model you are mentioning.....Fanct that eh?
