If you have found that the main part of the gear shifter fits the two holes in the frame but where does the plastic cover screw to? The answer is that there was a short extension piece of metal which attached to the front bolt holding the shifter and extended about half an inch forward. this had a hole in it and the shifter cover is screwed in place by this. if you need more help e-mail me and i can send you a picture
