She stood and stared
out the window
As the bus pulled away
Her heart lying beside
The dusty road
She choked back
her tears
One last time
And turned off her feelings
Forever
Made the men beg
For something that they'd
Never get
When they woke up beside her
They always felt
somehow uneasy
And I have little doubt
Each one's lucky
For surviving the night
And I pity the man
Who finally gets
what he so craves
There's only so much
A sweet loving heart
can endure
And once awakened
Feelings so deep
can be deadly
Better hold on tight
Pain can be
the best love of all
