Although people have told me that "cyber-stalking" is a crime-I didn't know that it is a Federal crime 'till I read this story. Lots more juciy details on an ugly message board internet "war" that is in the courts night now.(I have been told that I have a "good case" againt certain people but ???? I prefer not to spend my time on lawsuits-also.although my "privacy policy" has special mention of "troublemakers"-I like to extend a pretty strict privacy agreement.(high degree of privacy~except for "cookies" that may come in via ads)Mercury News Story(click here)

A few months ago I heard Michael Savage say that of all the places to get a cup of coffee, the best place to get a cup of coffee is McDonalds! He's right. There's nothing like a small cup of McDonalds coffee with 2 bags of sugar and one or two creamers. Not only is the coffee good, but isn't super expensive and it's so convenient. The sugar, creamers and stirers are easily accesible.
One reason that McDonalds coffee is consistantly good is because the amount of coffee used to make it is PRE-MEASURED. I think that places like Dunkin Donuts or 7-11 or WaWa use less coffee than they should, probably to save money, and the coffee tastes weak, especially Dunkin Donuts.
Also, McDonalds sells a lot of coffee, so it doesn't sit around and turn into sluge.

Any ideas/prefrerences?.....So far,I think that using an easy password to access this board was the best way. I got a LOT of objections on that from people who did NOT want to e-mail me in order to get a password.
Totally blocking people-dosen't work-the "bad guys" get around it,while some sincere posters get the "blocked" message.

Here's a new idea-un-moderating the board at intervals,or blocks of time when the moderators are "online"-so that we can closely monitor "trouble".Then putting it back to "moderated"(messages get "checked" before they go up)-when the moderators go offline. Maybe even having a somewhat regular FREE-FOR-ALL time set when everyone would know in advance that messages would go on instantly?(oh-yeah-they might be taken down or moved just as quickly!)

...found this while surf'n around...The Green Book of Songs (click here)....thousands of song titles and info. grouped by subject, this is how they used to play music in the "old" days.-ok maybe there was always a little "payola",but I can recall a time where,if it started to rain-the DJ would play "rainy" tunes. There was a lot more freedom on the part of the DJ to pick what songs were played. In my opinion-that is a big problem with today's playlists.
No radio angle, except I did mail this to Dan Klein to see if he would mention it over the air next week. Jane Kelly, who has written three "Jersey Shore" mysteries will be at Sun Rose Books in Ocean City (Asbury Avenue between 6th and 7th Streets) next Saturday, July 27 from 3-5. She'll be signing her latest - Wrong Beach Island. The other books are "Killing Time in Ocean City" and "Cape Mayhem". Sun Rose should be stocked with all three. She's a former librarian, world traveler and very interesting public speaker and the books make great summer (autumn, winter or spring) reading.

There is one subject that I would love to see addressed with the new law and that is the SBA. Every once in awhile-a woman caller to JEFF WHITAKER'S program,calls in and makes allegations of foriegn citizens taking advantage of the UNITED STATES small buisness loan program. Until now-Local representatives of the SBA have denied any acess to records.
What buisnesses are granted loans?
Which buisnesses are NOT?
Which buisnesses have taken the loan money and NOT paid back.
Which buisnesses (if any)have been granted the loan money and not paid back and not even established any buisness?
What is the "failure" rate of LOCAL buisnesses who are given money and then go bankrupt?

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) -- The brother of a well-known political activist has been indicted on voter fraud charges.
Ronald Callaway, 46, of Atlantic City, who also goes by the name Jihad Abdullah, is accused of casting more than one ballot in several municipal elections dating back two years.
He was charged with fraudulent voting, false voter registration, tampering with public records and violating absentee voting law in a 13-count indictment handed up Friday, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jeffrey Blitz said Monday.
Callaway, whose brother, Craig Callaway, won the Democratic primary for a City Council seat last month, registered to vote in July 1998 as Ronald Callaway. He registered two years later -- using a different address -- as Jihad Abdullah, Blitz said.
Last month, he notified the Board of Elections that he was no longer Jihad Abdullah.
In the meantime, Blitz said, Callaway cast absentee ballots under both names in an April 2000 school board election and a November 2000 general election.
In that election, he also voted in person as Ronald Callaway.
Last year, he cast absentee ballots in a primary election using both names and in the general election, he cast an absentee ballot as Ronald Callaway while voting in person as Jihad Abdullah, according to Blitz.
In addition, Callaway signed two nominating petitions for councilman-at-large candidate Ramon Rosario in a June 2001 primary -- one as Ronald Callaway, one as Jihad Abdullah, Blitz said.
If convicted on all charges, Callaway could get 6½ years in prison.
His brothers, Craig and David, orchestrated an absentee ballot and voter registration drive that helped Mayor Lorenzo Langford win election last November"

Vincent confronts a sleazy character, Teddy, who has been following him the whole time and realizes it’s a man he put between bars seven years earlier and who promises to make his life hell. Vincent extradites Teddy back to San Juan for the murder of the cabby but can’t touch him; there isn’t any evidence. Linda finds him in San Juan and their relationship deepens.

These boards are good for getting things off of your chest, so I have to thank "talkonline" for opportunity to do this...The recent Don Hurley settlement has to be final nail in Langfords political coffin, and he hasn't even been in office 6 months. This and some of his appointments and the guy that went out and got all of the absentee ballots isn't going to be there for him next time and he hasn't been in office 6 months...but if Lagford ran against Whalen again, I would vote for Langford again. The reson is that Whalen thinks that turning a memorial to an assasinated President into an amusment park (Kennedy Plaza) is a good idea. That and that kind of thinking that has no respect for tradition in Atlantic City and ultimately for the people of Atlantic City. I also think that McGreevey is only going to be a one term govenor...look at his appointments!

...on Friday, talking about the "what did they know and when did they know it" business, and made some good points. When he got to work at the hospital, a lot of people started giving him a "way to go!" - apparently a lot of his colleagues happened to be tuned in to Williams show and heard him on the air.
It seems that for the past week, Jeff has been on a hot streak. All of his shows have had great topics, a lot of thought-provoking calls. Sometimes people seem to go into a slump in mid-afternoon, but he's had a good week. I just wish he wouldn't take so many three day weekends, Seth Grossman really doesn't fill Jeff's shoes that well.

And an interview with Mayor Langford, who no one gets on. Sunday, also great volume of calls and exclusive first with AC Convention Head Vasser. I was listening to Harry this morning and he said that he was offered a 5 hour a day, 5 day a week, state wide gig on Millennium, but turned it down in favor of the gig he has now. They must have offered him the 1am to 6am slot. I should call and ask him but he might get mad.
Today I had Jeff on and caught the beginning of Pinky's show. He opened with a topic and Champ Hoffman was his first caller. Pinky treated him very rudely, cut the call short. I thought he was pressed for time, but he took another call and gave the guy time to talk, engaged in discussion. He was very cold to Champ. It really showed a lack of basic good manners. After all, they are called "hosts", aren't they?

To all of the people who called into talk radio to say that they have seen Langford salute the flag for the Pledge of Alleigance: Why on earth would you notice? Do you make a habit of scanning the room and taking note of who IS saluting and who is NOT?
Talk radio listeners deserve better than this. SOMEONE (and some people say it was Langford),DID come on talk radio with an explanation that they do NOT salute the flag for personal religious reasons. I say-SO WHAT!-THIS IS THE USA. As far as I know,it is not a crime to not salute the flag. If this was Afganistan you would have NO CHOICE (if you wanted to stay alive).
The thing that bothers me is that Mr. Langford has not addressed this since it came up lately. No-instead his supporters are all making obvious LIARS out of themselves by calling in to say that they saw Langford with their own eyes saluting the flag.-again,I have to ask-DOES ANYONE MAKE A HABIT OF CHECKING IF PEOPLE ARE SALUTING PROPERLY???,and-if that IS the case-who do you think you are-THE TALIBAN flag salute checking POLICE??...if YOU are saying the Pledge of Alliegance-mind your own buisness.
