All You Hurley Fans.... -- Talkoffline, 04:50:06 01/11/03 Sat
Please stop with your idiotic remarks of Hurley sueing the board or moderator, if you had an ounce of objectivity you'd admit Harry calls more people he doesn't like the nastiest names than anything posted here!
I still cant figure why you continue to participate on this board if you find it so negative towards you spelling challenged "Hero".
As for plain tasteless remarks why not read HH's post of his conversation he had with his passenger suggesting he felt someone was going to die that day(what a creepy thing to say to someone in the context he used it).
By the way wonder if he will be over his obvious jealousy of Jeffs appearance on Donhue ? Guess we'll find out today or tommorow as I'm sure he or one of his 3 or 4 regular listeners will take a shot as well as his weekly trashing of anyone who opposes his "Buddies"
Attn: Speedy -What's the dealio? -- Ratso, 13:29:37 01/12/03 Sun
I was reading some pre-election back issues of the Press. In 1 column, Mr. Marsh is asked, "Why are you spending so much money on a Primary Election when it seems clear who will get the nomination (meaning the current Mayor).
Speedy's reply was, "It takes money to make money."
That troubles me. What did he mean? What did he expect? Did that mean that Mr. Langford's election (which Speedy spent a lot of money on) would somehow "make (him-Speedy) money"? Was it a slip of the tongue? Did he mean it literally? Did Speedy know that the election would be profitable to him?
How does "spending money to make money" fit in an election for a City that needs honesty and fairness and not more cronyism and patronage? Aren't the City of AC residents tired of that payoff crap. There is enough for everyone if people would just stop being so greedy, petty and egocentric.
Harry has 5 articles about Jeff. But it isn't personal! -- A Caring Soul, 22:46:52 01/08/03 Wed

Dan Klien's South Jersey Insider -- talkonline, 11:41:02 01/12/03 Sun
.....just checked out the latest edition of The Insider (available online-link on homepage), ED HITZEL'S tribute to TONY C. is not to be missed.
As I mentioned here, I only had the privelege of being introuduced to Tony one time. When the news got out that he had passed away, those who knew him well, well, read Hitzel's story and you will have an idea....they really don't make too many guys like this! Thanks Ed, for giving us a peek at the life of a truly unique local individual.

As I said months ago to the chagrin of Hurley fans there is NO thats N-O column in Dan Kliens publication.

Dropped a 27 inch TV on my metatarsel! It should be ok once the swelling goes down. SHORE MEMORIAL gets an A+ today in all catagories!-(cleanliness,attitude,every encounter with all staff, including DR. was excellent.!)
Someone in VENTNOR (on VENTNOR AVE.) opened his/or her car door on a bike rider. Well,I hope that the bike rider makes a full recovery, but they are SUING! The bike rider's lawyer is working overtime on the case and even gave the patient a nice neck-rub while waiting to get the diagnoses!
Can I sue myself for dropping a TV on my foot? Probably!- but I didn't want the other patient's lawyer to get too excited!

Why are we a 2nd class movie market? -- rujane, 08:46:24 01/11/03 Sat
We're big moviegoers and it's getting increasingly frustrating that movies don't open around here. I know a bit about the theory of movie distribution, but there were a batch that opened between Christmas and New Years that still haven't made it here. Two of my family had been waiting for "Chicago" and "Nicholas Nickleby" - if we go to Voorhees or Philly we can catch them, but not at the Commons, the Tilton or the re-opened Towne. Why not? A few that opened weeks ago elsewhere have recently dribbled into our market (Narc, 25th Hour) but I've heard so much about them for so many weeks, I feel like I've seen them, and my rush-to-the-theatre enthusiasm is gone.
BREAKING NEWS!!! -- NJerseyJ, 15:19:00 01/07/03 Tue
Just heard Hannity say that he needs to get to know Jeff Whittaker. He said that Jeff was the only one standing up for them (conservatives), and that Jeff was the only one making sense. How can some of you criticize Jeff so much when a National Mogul like Hannity praised him? Hannity is national on radio and TV and he thinks Jeff did a good job. If some one with this much experiance thinks Jeff did a good job, I would have to agree with him.

Review of The Oaks restaurant at AC Hilton -- Restaurant Henry, 22:43:23 01/09/03 Thu
A superb restaurant with very good service, nicely furnished with very comfortable seating. By ordering carefully and perhaps sharing,4 can dine at about $135 with tip. Our foursome had grilled salmon, crabcakes, prime rib, 8" double baked potatoes, several tasty veggies, selection of tomato biscuits, black bread, salt rolls and sourdough breads. Choice of caesar or large house salad presented in bite size pieces. We skipped deserts but there were a number of interesting offerings. Coffee was served with a selection of shaved chocolate, thick whip cream, chocolate coated coffee beans, and brown crystal sugar on sticks. The portions were large, very tasty. We took plenty home including a bread assortment. Cost was $157 plus $35 tips. We had no wine but did enjoy clud soda with lemon and lime wedges.

The Tunica Miracle - from rags to riches
Since I spent the last five years working as a journalist for The Tunica Times, the newspaper of record in Tunica County, I thought you Marshall County people would like to know how they spend their millions in gaming revenue.
It would take several columns to do justice in reporting all the ways Tunica County and the town of Tunica have benefited financially from the gaming and tourism boom going on there since the opening of Tunica's first casino in 1992. Now they have nine casinos open after one closed this year. Those casinos have changed the face of Tunica and the North Delta for better or for worse.
This story is not about the pros and cons of gaming, but rather, the impact of gaming on the area economy and life of the community. I am not an authority, but relate my perceptions on the matter.
In 1991-92 before the first gaming revenues started coming into the county coffers, the county budget was about 1.3 million per annum. Agriculture and an assembly plant, Pillowtex, were the major industries in the county. The unemployment rate was in the neighborhood of 30 percent and the county population, which has not changed much in 10-years since, was around 9,000.
Today, Tunica County has the third lowest unemployment rate in the state at around 1.3 percent, right up there with Lafayette County. My editor told me when I came to Tunica that anyone who wanted a job could find one.
Tunica County's fiscal year 2002-03 budget is 91.7 million. The gaming revenues that poured into the county since gaming got started is in the hundreds of millions. With that money the Board of Supervisors has paved practically every county road, replaced or repaired numerous county bridges and undertaken a water management project to clean out the bayous and ditches to keep the flat land from flooding.
In the last five years the county has acquired almost every community water association and spent many of those millions in upgrading the water and sewer infrastructure throughout the county - a project that is on going.
The School District, which was failing and put under state conservatorship for three years, just got the passing mark and was accredited in October 2002. Student enrollment is somewhere between two and three thousand.
Almost every building in the school system has been repaired in one way or another and gaming revenues, that go directly to the school system, have been used to purchase the best in equipment, raise salaries of teachers and build new facilities.
A new elementary school in Robinsonville and new middle school opened this year. The high school has a new administration building and gym. The elementary school in Dundee was restored and opened two years ago. Achievement scores are rising just a bit, but it may be a number of years before the improvement in school environment makes a difference in student performance.
Tunica County has more than a dozen capital investment projects in various stages of completion - a $130 million investment.
These projects include: a $38 million airport expansion project which when completed will accept large jets; a $22 million RiverPark, to include a docking facility, museum and eco-tour; a $25 million convention and conference center; a $4 million aquatic center to include an olympic-size pool and athletic facility; a $28 million arena and expo center which now attracts motor sports, trade shows and equine events; a $2 million museum with historic county and delta exhibits; a $2 million county administration building; a $2 million Highway 61 beautification project; a $1 million White Oak recreation and meeting facility; a county services building; and a $12 million golf and tennis facility. Numerous other improvements in the county have taken place.
The town of Tunica, if my memory serves me correctly, has a $7 million fiscal 2002-03 budget. The town has spent its gaming revenue on sewer rehabilitation, street repair, and other utility upgrades.
Other improvements include landscaping of downtown Rivergate Park; addition of a walking park; the construction of a Veteran Memorial which was dedicated November 11, 2002; and construction of a new police department building, municipal building and market place. A new downtown grocery store is under construction that will be rented out.
Well, that's some of the ways Tunica and Tunica County have spent their gaming dollars. If you ever have a free afternoon and want to go over there to do something besides visit the casinos, visit downtown and ask someone there to give you a tour of the town. Or just wander around on your own. The locals really are proud of their town and love to show it off.
For you who are interested in casino gaming, you can visit www.tunica-ms.com to find out more about the casinos. The site has links to other websites where you can get information about casinos in Biloxi, Atlantic City, Los Vegas, Indiana, Illinois, Louisiana, and Tunica. The site offers a chat room and forum for people to share their opinions and to find out the best places to stay, which casinos have the best food and which casinos offer discounts to seniors.

Ratings -- No name, 20:41:24 01/07/03 Tue
I see on Harry's site he posts Donahue's ratings. He states how bad they are. No Sh_t! They have been that way since he came back on the air. HH has never talked about Donahue before. Why now? To try and belittle Jeff. Get a life. Lets be fair. HARRY, POST YOU RATINGS AND THE REST OF THE AREA"S RATINGS ON THE 10TH. Lets see where you stand. FAIR IS FAIR!
Analysis -- The Philosopher, 18:41:49 01/07/03 Tue
Imagine, if you will; Had Hurley performed exactly as Whitaker did last night. The same exact people who have said today how wonderful Jeff did, would be brutalizing Hurley. You know it it's true. The truth is, Whitaker was horrible. Plain and simple. You all know it. You just play the bias game. I can just see the quotes today, what Cuomo did to smack Hurley down. What Franken did. What Donahue did. But, since it's one of the "chosen" ones, it's great news all the way. OK, Tony and Barry and Rusty and Lurch and Chump, you can all post your nasty follow-ups sayiongh that I'm Hurley and so forth. Then the moderator can leave all the nasty and personal remarks posted. And this sick cycle can continue.
I am The Philosopher and I will be checking in on a rare basis.
Hurley's hit piece on Whitaker -- No name, 21:29:50 01/07/03 Tue
Hurley did quite a hit piece on Jeff Whitaker's Donahue appearance. Could it have been any nastier or more personal? The amount of venom coarsing thru Hurley's veins would kill a black widow spider.
P.S. Tell Hurley Jeff spells his last name "Whitaker", not "Whitakker".
HH Gets It Wrong (Yet Again) -- truth-o-meter, 22:35:37 01/06/03 Mon
On his website, HH expresses his outrage over what he (mis) identifies as the selection, in a TV Guide article, of President Clinton's sax-playing appearance on the old Arsenio Hall Show as "...the number 1 musical event in the entire history of television." (HH quote).
Strange as it is that HH (or anyone for that matter) would devote so much attention to such an insignificant fluff piece (a TV Guide article? give me a break!), HH can't even get his facts straight on the simple stuff.
In fact, the TV Guide article was NOT about the "number 1 musical event in the entire history of television" as HH states. Rather, the article was actually entitled " 100 MUSIC MOMENTS THAT ROCKED TV". Furthermore, the first paragraph of the article makes it rather clear what the article is about when it states:"TV Guide teams up with VH1 to choose the musical memories that still have everyone talking. Here's a few of our favorites..."--hardly the same thing as HH's characterization. Perhaps HH never actually read what he was commenting on.
Seems to me that if HH can't even get the small stuff right, how can he even pretend to claim that he gets the important stuff right?
Yet Another Lie About Harry Hurley -- Here's the Truth About, 14:43:37 01/07/03 Tue
Someone, Blabber Mike or whoeever wrote that Harry Hurley's website link was taken down from NJ1015.com site.
Yet another lie. I don't believe what I read here. I checked, it's there. Liar, Liar.
The Jealousy of that SICKO Hurley. His Character Revealed!!! -- Disgusted, 16:32:53 01/07/03 Tue
He has already written a couple of stories on his onesided web page savaging Jeff for his appearance on Donahue. This small minded whacko couldn't help himself. He's stuck on an insignificant tiny little show going NO-WHERE.
City Cars/Trucks: use, misuse or abuse -- Ratso, 20:02:30 01/06/03 Mon
Now is the time to kill the pork barrel politics of city employees getting use of City cars at citizen's expense. It is bad enough some City official live outside AC's taxable boundries, now they want free transportation. How about free transportation for the working stiffs who make minimum wage and take pubic transportation. No can do, but the City pork barrel politicians enjoy this feature at your expense. How much is car insurance in NJ?
When are you citizens of AC going to contact your City Councilman/woman and let them know. The rules can be changed. If you are big enought to be a City Councilperson, you should be big enough to own a car. Use your car on City Business--deduct it on your taxes. I wonder if the IRS looks at this perk, as it should, as a form of income for those who get free cars. Maybe we should inquire at the IRS office. Now let's see--what AC politicians get free cars?
I challenge Harry Hurley and the other Talk show hosts to hit this nail on the head and stop being apologists for the elite.
Hell, I might even call in myself on Saturday.
Comcast high speed internet -- talkonline, 19:32:45 01/07/03 Tue
If anyone is thinking of signing up for COMCAST cable modem service. If you mention my COMCAST email addy (talkonline@comcast.net),I will get a FREE MONTH of service! (about 40-something). My bill is apx.$49. 'cause we rent the modem @ about 5 bucks a month.
When I signed-up they had a deal going on (they ALWAYS have some kind of special deal!), and I got $100. rebate. If I was signing-up again,I would look for a deal where you get a FREE modem,or I would buy one at radio-shack or best buy. The instructions for getting the rebate were a little tricky and I had to keep pestering them but I finally DID get the $100.....they also had some service probs. last year and they credited everyone's accounts (you had to send a postcard for that) other than that, the service rarely goes "down", of course, you guys know that I still can't figure out how to use the COMCAST webpage to put pages on my COMCAST webspace, but maybe I just don't "get" ftp?
Anyhow, YES-I will tell you this,It IS FAST! AND-I wouldn't cancel and go back to a dial-up.
While reports were coming in on this afternoon's deadly bus accident, several officials and eyewitnesses called in with preliminary reports on the accident.
Not 'till hours later, was it said that the "bus" was a NJ Transit bus. The time of the accident was peak School Bus time for many of our area students, with some traveling for BBall games (in school buses also).
SOMEONE should have reported that the bus WAS NOT a school bus from the moment that "bus" was mentioned.

Poor Jeff -- Jeff Whittaker on Donahue, 21:55:23 01/06/03 Mon
Be honest gang. It couldn't have gone worse for our Jeff Whittaker tonnight. All you can really say is that he was there. His performance was terrible. He must be so embarrassed. At least he made it there, but, wow how did he do that bad? We needed the bullpen tonight. Good thing Jeff's not a horse, cause you know what happens to them.
What Lorenzo Langfor and Speedy Marsh wouldn't do to have James Whaelan back as Mayor of Atlantic City! -- zuwahrah, 11:42:35 01/07/03 Tue
I'm glad Mayor Whaelan is gone, for, among other reasons, the $88,000,000 entrance way into Atlantic City that looks like a hole in the ground when the water is off and when the water is on, it looks like someone knocked over around 12 fire hydrants.
It is a little safer for pedestrians, though!
And for what he did to Kennedy Plaza. If you look up "plaza" in the dictionary, it means "open space". Kennedy Plaza is no longer an open space.
It used to be an oasis from all of the schlock on the boardwalk. Now it's just a piece of crap.
Last summer, I saw a man standing right in the middle of this piece of crap, (Kennedy Plaza), urinating. In broad daylight! he didn't look out of place.
But getting back to how "Rennie" Langford and "Speedy" Marsh miss their host, James Whaelan. These two guys were likes ticks on the poor man. They sucked the poor man dry. And now that he's gone, they are both left high and dry. It serves them right!
When is it going to soak in -- Ratso, 21:16:01 01/04/03 Sat
When are you ignorant assholes going to understand that as long as there is division between Blacks and Whites, progress to make AC a better town will forever be in jeopardy. The few power brokers who keep the races divided so they can cash in will continue to prosper while the worker and businessman will foot the bill for all the "hurt feelings" lawsuits and unproductivity in the workplace. Figure it out. There is enough potential prosperity for everyone if we could just put the predjudice aside and try not to get "one up" on everyone. Be real
Conservative Media Bias? -- Jennifer, 09:14:12 01/07/03 Tue
Now I understand why Phil Donahue has such poor ratings. His grandstanding during his show on the "Conservative Media Bias" was laughable. He gave Al Franken the most air time and put local broadcaster Jeff Whittaker and Bernie Goldberg on the defensive. Goldberg should have used more facts about his experiences and cited the voting by the media in all Presidential Elections, where 80% in the media vote democratic and it has been even as high as 90%. Also, remember on HBO's "Journeys with George" how the media were voting for Gore, even though they liked Bush better? Republicans have to learn to attack back. Phyllis Schlafly recently said on CSPAN, "When you are attacked, if you don't attack back, you will eventually be killed." The mainstream media do set the agenda as to what news is covered and rarely allow someone with an opposing view to be interviewed. How many pro life advocates are given airtime? I know of a woman who was a former owner of abortion clinics who crossed over to being pro life. She was highly critical of the lucrative cash business and how deaths at clinics are rarely reported. The media would not even cover the book she wrote. I will never forget when Tom Brocaw said on election night..."Let's see how many states "we" need to win," referring to states that Al Gore still needed, showing he was supporting Gore. If you research the number of stories written the week before the election on George Bush's DUI's from 30 years prior, compared to the story of Al Gore's connection to trial lawyers you will see how unfair the media are. Conservatives finally know where to go to hear their side of the argument and the opposing side, not like the mainstream media who only give the liberal side in most cases. Is there any wonder why Rush has 20 million listeners? Conservatives finally have an outlet and someone who speaks for them. It is wrong for Donahue to compare Rush to the Evening News, because Rush does conservative commentary, whereas the evening news does "liberal commentary" disguised as unbiased journalism. Donahue wasted time showing the Franken and Gore skit, which had nothing to do with the subject. Someone should get a transcript of the show and total the number of words Franken and Cuomo got compared to Goldberg and Whittaker and you will see the bias loud and clear. Last night will be the first and last time I watch Donahue! Come on Republicans, it's time to play offensive. Finally on another issue: please tell me how extending Unemployment Benefits and increasing the child tax credit by $400. only helps the rich??
Caller to DON WRONG. The Local State Police barracks DOES have a cell for drunken idiots -- don't ask me how I know this!, 09:18:02 01/07/03 Tue

Atlantic City Car Issue -- NJerseyJ, 17:44:08 01/03/03 Fri
OK, after reading The Press and Hurley's articles on this subject, here is The Outsider's point of view. Who cares what employees drive the car. I have stated before that I do not support Mr. Calloway, but he is right on this issue. The fact of the matter is it does not matter who uses the car. As long as they are on City business and are an employee. The point is she should not be taking the car to and from her home outside of Atlantic City, unless she is supposed to be on-call 24 hrs. a day. On the same topic of City cars, I do not think council people should have them either. What other City does this? Why do they need them?
"Breaking News!" (yeah right) -- Silent Majority, 11:20:54 01/06/03 Mon
I was listening to 1450 this weekend while the host was interviewing Speedy Marsh. After some personal attacks on some of their enemies, HH announced that he had some breaking news. It went kinda like this:
HH: " I'm gonna break some news now Councilman."
SM: "Great, I'm looking foward to it"
HH: "I don't even know if YOU know about this."
SM: "I'm listening."
HH: "I found out who is running against you for 4th ward."
"But I'm not going to mention any names."
SM: "Yeah, I heard that too. Some old re-tread. Bring it
on."
Well, that was it folks! You heard it here second.
Can you imagine journalism being done that way all the time. "Coming up on Meet the Press - Attorney General Ashcroft discusses who just got indicted in the Bush Cabinet but mentions no names. But first, my daughter's coach talks about his favorite music."
Another thing I love is when people call in and they start having an inside conversation. Nobody identifes anyone. I first noticed this when a former regular caller used to contribute juicy bits of gossip to the host. Once in a while the host would say, "thanks, Craig. Good is on a roll." But for some reason he doesn't call in anymore. I wonder who it was...
Thanks for mentioning us on-the-air! BUT-what the heck??? A hacker looking in the secret message managment area????
For the purpose of determining how many different people post messages here???? (you implied that your "hacker" friend said that a few people post here under a lot of different names- but that ip evidence suggests that all of the messages come from the same computer-(my computer?)......
Although ip addys are not displayed with messages, yes,the info. is available with every message. BUT WHY would someone HACK this board to get that info.??????? why don't you just ask me for the password(s) and I would WELCOME an AUDIT of this site.???????????
I don't have anything to hide and I would really like to see another independant report on the statistics and data pertaining to this site. And while you're at it, can you find a sponsor (with deep pockets) for this site???? (good commision!).....
This site is in THE TOP FIVE of most search engines. keywords=(local talk radio),and if someone wanted to take a serious look at our visitors logs, well,it is very impressive to say the least.
As far as using an ip addy to track someone, maybe some people can do that easily, but I don't think it is that easy. Probably, a law enforcement agency could do it for sure, but they might have to impound someone's computer and get the ISP to co-operate. As far as I know,an IP addy divulges very little,if any information.
AND, HACKING VOY????? I've tried every way that I can think of,but that would be a tough nut to crack!-yeah,I'd LOVE to see proof of THAT!
So Henry, thanks for visiting and mentioning us....looking forward to a tasty review????

Hurley never said that Callaway was at a meeting with Gormley. In fact, Hurley mentioned no names at all, just that Callaway was at a meeting in Margate. Stop lying here.
Hurley gets it wrong again -- No name, 14:48:51 01/05/03 Sun
I just heard on Seth's program Craig Callaway saying where he was yesterday and was not with Gormley. Hurley said on his show today (Sunday) that Craig was at a party with Gormley. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!!! How many times can this moron put his foot in it before he is taken off the air. I might start betting on the people he supports for election- not to get elected. I would have an 80% profit!!!!
Hurley you are a brown noser.
Physical bashing -- Mick, 22:28:07 01/04/03 Sat
I do not think that it is appropriate to comment on one's physical appearance, re Hurley, Champ, Barry and Craig. If you disagree with what they say fair enough. But don't mock. Thats childish behaviour.

Is Callaway a clone? -- talkonline's clone, 14:34:53 01/05/03 Sun
How was he IN TWO PLACES AT ONE TIME????? An "upstairs" of a MARGATE tavern (MALONEY'S comes to mind), AND (according to Callaway himself on SETH GROSSMAN'S show),hold on 'cause it gets even better....DRUMTWHACKET!....actually he said THE GOVERNOR'S MANSION.
Where were YOU! at apx. 12:30 pm,Saturday January...?
A command appearance at an imaginary meeting???????
Pat Collins -- A. Rose aka talkonline, 08:09:41 01/05/03 Sun
Thank-you to the person who brought up how icky and stalker like the Pat Collins witch hunt is. (ending sentence with a preposition???)
I can't find that post from yesterday, but it was right on the money.-I had the same feeling.
As far as I know, THE PRESS does have a policy of asking that name, phone# and address be sent along with letters to the editor. BUT, who says that you cannot use a NOM-DAY-PLUME?(ok-a "pen-name")..........I myself used an alias one time when I sent a letter to the PRESS. Of course I gave them my real phone number, and they did call.
I'll tell you that seeing my letter in hard copy was a real thrill!
Why did I use a fake name? Because of people like the ones who would go after a PAT COLLINS-(like they are doing). I know a person who recieved death threat phone calls after having a letter published (NOT THE PRESS). I felt that what I had to say was important and didn't really matter who said it.(I had no agenda-just personal feelings/opinions/observations)....
Today,I heard more Pat Collins attacks. A LOCAL host said that he would "go national" if he exposes the identity of PC. I didn't quite get the implications/suspicions but the words "inside-job" were brought up. Confusing-implying that THE PRESS wrote the letter to itself or someone in the LANGFORD admin????

Domestic Violence -- talkonline, 11:25:22 01/05/03 Sun
I don't know if you guys all heard Barbara Altman's FRONT PORCH on Friday, but aside from requests for multiple tickets (in batches of SIX!-what's up with that?), to the US MARINE CORP BAND, the program was devoted to domestic abuse, violence, and controlling behavior.
A haunting and disturbing topic, yet keeping the topic a dirty little secret, only serves to enable abuse to continue.
Those of us who cannot imagine the extreme examples mentioned, or who are fortuate not to be touched by almost un-speakable violence, can still feel ashamed that situations like that exsit-or at least grateful for our own loved ones-I know that I hugged my family a little tighter (but not too tight-ewe-bad joke),after BARBARA'S show on Friday.
Here's a link to a domestic violence/abuse website. There are graphic crime scene photos so,scroll down the page if you go there. The victim's brother, who maintains the site, chose to put the evidence online. The victim's pre-teen son commited suicide and left a note that expressed thoughts that he (the son) feared that he was destined to become an abuser due to violence in the home. Very tragic. I think that some of the victims could have been helped in this case.
Here's the link, click here....links on the site to a domestic abuse webring with more info.

Talk Radio/Streaming Audio -- talkonline, 09:21:30 01/05/03 Sun
Enough is enough. Yes music stations have issues with royalties on every piece of music that is played, but, TALK RADIO is sooooo much simpler.
The main bug-a-boo from the way I see it is national advertiser's and TALKERS who broadcast union talent.
If they can't come to an agreement (or a solution, such as "stripping" the national ads out of the simulcast 'till royalties are set),on those two EASY problems, then deciding a BMI or ASCAP fee (and the method of monitoring),for all of the music stations is in my opinion HOPELESS!
THEY, have been kicking the ball around TOO LONG and I predict that SOON-STREAMING audio/cyber-casting will be TAKEN BACK BY THE PEOPLE!

More trouble for Ventnor Pathmark -- talkonline, 10:17:47 01/04/03 Sat
I hear that Ventnor Pathmark has not made it's "two-month profit projection" (an important industry tool),since opening.
I also heard that employees were stiffed on a year-end bonus. In some cases, employees were given a ten-dollar (Pathmark) gift certificate. And they did not appreciate it.
I have been shopping there, and since they lowered prices,it does make a difference in my grocery bill.(by A LOT-about $30.00 a week) My only personal complaint (ok BEEF-pun/yes) with Pathmark now,is that you can't get a decent roast beef,or even a brisket there. Or steaks. The Filet Mingion was a "product of Argentina"-(no thank-you)....I AM liking the super-irradiated (or whatever they do),longer-lasting ground beef!
....and yes there is a RUMOUR,that Shop-Rite will move back there.
I don't believe it,but if that ever does happen, maybe they can tell SHOP-RITE how to keeep BIRDS out of the store!?

Why does Loser hurley constantly blast national democrats -- but cozys up to local democrats?, 18:16:01 01/04/03 Sat
He constantly rips Clinton, Gore, Daschle and all national democrats to a ridiculous degree. Yet, locally, all his chums are liberal democrats - McGreevy, langford, marsh & co. I guarantee that langford and Marsh, who are hurley's close pals, loved clinton and still support him. How can hurley be so hypocritical? does he have no integrity? or does he have no real principles?
