Anyone notice Harry's headline on his web site? -- A Caring Soul, 19:18:38 01/03/03 Fri
I do not expect Harry to write a whole article without a misspelled word. However, at least get a banner headline correct. Harry, as always, you are "priceless"! Further, and as always, your writing is laughable!
WaWa food review -- talkonline, 10:56:51 01/04/03 Sat
I did my shopping at WaWa last night. I was afraid of getting stranded by flood waters,so I first went to Casel's Market. Well, just my luck, after I had finally convinced myself that they were sticking with the "new-hours" that they started last Summer (open Fri. 'till 8:45)....they are now only open 'till 5 or 6:45)
I went to the Ventnor WaWa. (the one that was recently renovated). Bread-yes several types available. Cat food-running out low choices. Chicken Salad BLT "Shorty"-VERY good! nice pieces of celery in the salad. CHEF-SALAD,(pre-packaged). THIS was perfect!-Slices of ham, swiss cheese, turkey, grape tomatoes. I opted for the Ceaser Dressing. THIS was a BIG salad.($2.99). Very tasty, and what impressed me the most was that I didn't have to "pick-over" a single piece. What I mean is that there was nothing "yucky" in the salad, every bite was fresh, and like I said perfect and edible. It was after 4pm,so the donuts were reduced-they looked good but they disappeared fast-I didn't get a lick. Bagel w/cream cheese also vanished completely. Pepperoni/cheese/crackers in a cup.I ate every bite, slight disappiontment when the saltine crackers broke. Of course I am waiting for the return of something that WaWa made a long time ago.
Continuing coverage on the malpractice insurance problem tonight -- talkonline, 15:53:13 01/03/03 Fri
I heard what I think was Part 1 of this report last night on NBC Nightly News,on WOND,right after the WMGM TV-40 LOCAL News.
Part 2 tonight, National coverage of the malpractice insurance crisis.
And yes I do mean crisis-one thing that Doctors (in general) don't do is "cry-wolf"! I think it comes from discerning hypochondriacs from the real thing- (probably not as easy as that sounds). When was the last time that the AMA or a large contingency of MDs asked for help or complained so publicly?
NJ 101.5 -- Hmmmmm, 18:14:23 01/03/03 Fri
Surfing NJ 101.5's web site earlier. Happened to look around on the "weekend programming" link. No mention of Hurley. Clicked on the 1450am link. No mention or link to his web site. Hmmmmmm. Even 101.5 is distancing itself from this loser. Is the ax getting ready to swing on this poor creature? Oh,the tangled web we weeve when we practice to deceive. Such a pity. I'll say a prayer for him. tsk, tsk.
I am mystified at this -- ????, 16:17:15 01/03/03 Fri
a story in The Press, link hereThis woman is a citizen of Jamacia,????? I am assuming that because, last time that I checked, convicted felons are not allowed to become citizens. And on top of THAT-why is she getting all kinds of FREE PROPERTY as in REAL ESTATE and FREE WELFARE!!!!
I consider myself somewhat liberal when it comes to people (US citizens who might need government help) needing help BUT THIS IS NOT RIGHT!
LEVINE " MAYOR OF THE MORNING" -- JUST TROLLING, 18:10:45 01/03/03 Fri
Truth Squad Time. Lurch has 4 Television Shows per-week on various, highly respected topics and works for some big and well respected entities. Lurch writes daily for The Sentinel. His web site has 3-4 times more hits then this site in 1/4 of the time in existence. His daily updates are great. His weekend show is better than anyone else. He's also the only guy in the busines (locally) who is the real mayor.
He has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for needy families and other charities over the past years.
Hurley's only "crime" in the minds of this polluted chatty board is that he is alive. That's all it comes down to. If he (like you) kissed Langford,s ass, you would all be cooing over Hurley.
He's the most hated troll in the local market ... the only broacaster to have such low ratings.
Westerfild pervert-DEATH!....Craig & Rossi saying that the guy who let his drunk friend drive (and he killed...),is going back to trial AGAIN? WoW. is that why they are talk'n about that case today?-I can hardly believe it. Wouldn't that be "Double Jeopardy"?
Talkonline is a liar -- Here Is The Proof, 08:56:54 01/03/03 Fri
Talkonline Mary removed a harmless and fun post about an OND on-air person going crazy at Somers Point KFC recently. No one ever mentioned specifically who it is. A lot of fun posts followed and yet Talkonline removed this, yet has left all the ugly about Harry Hurley stay. Case closed. You are obsessed and biased against Hurley, and people know it. Try to say anything about an OND'er and it's erased within minutes. Even a phony and poor;y written post signed Your Friedn Harry Hurley gets treated like he wrote it. Sure, Harry wrote that? This one guy drives you all insane. It's really funny.
Since There is So Much Harry Hurley Hating -- Here's a Different Take, 17:05:31 12/30/02 Mon
I have read some of the most meanspirited, ugly postings on this Board that you will ever find anywhere.
It is quite obvious, Harry Hurley must really get to some of you, because the level of hatred is unnatural by those who have posted ugly here.
Truth Squad Time. Hurley has 4 Television Shows per-week on various, highly respected topics and works for some big and well respected entities. Hurley writes daily for The Sentinel. His web site has 3-4 times more hits then this site in 1/4 of the time in existence. His daily updates are great. His weekend show is better than anyone else. He's also the only guy in the busines (locally) who has an employment contract.
He has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for needy families and other charities over the past 15 years.
His only "crime" in the minds of this polluted chatty board is that he dares to take on Gormley and the corrupt political system. That's all it comes down to. If he (like you) kissed Gormley's ass, you would all be cooing over Hurley.
He's the brightest, the most talented in the local market ... the only broacaster to host a National show and that's why he's the only host ever discussed on this board and without him, you don't even have a board.
As MIKE pointed out here, the LOCAL ARBITRON RADIO ratings are due out next week. It has been my observation that the "overall" 12+ numbers come out first, followed by "day-part" (elusive for those of us who want to know how our faves are doing) and finally, followed by "week-end".
I could be wrong about that, maybe the "day-part-or time-slot come out at the same time as "weekend" ratings but,
the first ratings that come are usually an overall number for the stations.
Some of the links on the homepage contain ARBITRON reports btw.
Ok this forum should be visable again. I removed MOST of the messages from 12/31/02,yes even the exciting K-F-C discussion.
New Year-new "rules" for the board?????-yes I know that I promised LAST YEAR to get rid of some of the mean stuff, (and some of it is still up).....well,this time I mean it!
One "rule",that I think we can go by is RELEVANCE to the shows/hosts/callers, AND her/or his PUBLIC activities. Meaning, what is said on the air,or available in the PUBLIC mediums.
(if we want to chat about ourselves-that's ok too I guess)
You guys know that I hate making up rules but I think that we can all live with that one????....'specially,since this forum is supposed to be for people who LIKE TALK RADIO!
As far as the one Local host that gets talked about here too much- I would love to limit discussing that host to the weekends-but that's up to you guys.
Another word on substitute hosts -- rujane, 08:43:49 12/31/02 Tue
Not to toot our horn too much, but overall I think the listening community makes more interesting hosts. I think Paula Johnson, whom I had never met, did a really smooth job of captaining our hour, and both Jerry and Craig and Larry and Janis handled their jobs very capably, you would never know this was the first time for some people. But, when you think about it, most of the local hosts are not from a broadcasting background, most of them came to radio from another profession.
And - I was in the car yesterday and happened to turn on 1210 AM around 11:30 AM and heard John Kobylt subbing for Glenn Beck. Anyone remember John and Ken? They were in AC, then went to Trenton, now are in LA.
Resorts Buffet review -- Restaurant Henry, 22:30:02 12/30/02 Mon
Hey its 2 for 1 time back at Resorts. We went today at 2PM and the room had about 30 diners. This used to be the grand ballroom of the original hotel. The buffet has 2 semi-circular serving lines. Each has different items once you pass the salad veggies. The carving station had roast beef and turkey, tasty, but the outer layer was dry. Entrees included Seafood St. Jacques (shrimp, scallops, mussels in a white dream sauce) very good. Generals chicken minus the needed sauce, lasagna, cold Asian chicken with squash, yams and pineapple, salmon, catfish and more. The desert bar was adequate including sugar free treats however, it was not up to its former overdone splendor. Also had a chance to speak with Harry Moskowitz, Resorts Executive Sous Chef and learned a lot. It never hurts to meet new people. For $26 including tip for 4, we'll be back. Thursday night its Perrigrines at the Hilton. As an aside, you can enjoy the ambiance of the fine casino and hotel restaurants without a big tab. The breads and smart choice of appetizers will fill you up and keep you wallet heavy. Go early to get a reservation or dropin. Tip of the hat to Ron for starting the reviews. Best for the New Year to all. Be nice, its easy. Henry
Atlantic City Council President -- No name, 17:18:50 12/31/02 Tue
Well since Hurley forcasts Rosario or Robinson to get the post, you would have to bet someone else will get it. Remember this is the man who has predicted McGettigan's loss, as well as Callaway's. Do I hear Callaway for President. Remember even Langford's own people on council turned on him before. How about a longshot to piss off the Mayors'(Langford & Hurley), Mancuso?
Advertising on W.O.N.D -- Tom, 23:42:14 12/30/02 Mon
I have listened to the Barbra Altman show for the past three years. The monologue is good, then there are maybe two callers, after that she breaks into HER sponsors which maybe last as much as FIFTEEN minutes in the first hour. The last week on her second hour was even longer I turned the radio to another station. I know people have to make a living but I think this show, how much I loved it is using up more air time on personal advertising than talk.

New Street Name -- NJerseyJ, 21:09:30 12/30/02 Mon
While we are at the name a street for a criminal thing, how about a street for Little Nicky Scarfo. He is an Atlantic City icon, and is Nationally recognized. He has more to do with A.C. than Don King does. Oh, I am sorry Don deserves it, he has given the city some $$$.
A Street After Don King? -- NJerseyJ, 09:14:07 12/30/02 Mon
Two quotes taken from HarryHurley.com:
FIRST QUOTE,
Atlantic City 4th Ward Councilman William Marsh has confirmed in a “Hurley in the Morning”/Harry Hurley.com exclusive that he did not place an agenda item to name an Atlantic City Street after Boxing Promoter Don King.
SECOND QUOTE,
“I did place the Don King item on the agenda,” said Marsh. “Upon discovering that it was placed on the next Council Meeting Agenda (Monday, December 30th) … I immediately had it removed from the formal agenda of City Council,” said Marsh.
My question is did he or didn’t he put it on the agenda. If you read his first statement Marsh says he did not place the item on the agenda. If you read Marsh’s next statement he states he did put it on the agenda. Is this just another Harry Hurley type-o? Or, is Mr. Marsh backpedaling? It appears to me that Mr. Marsh did put this on the agenda, just not for this Monday’s meeting. Who cares when Mr. Marsh wants it proposed. The simple fact that he is even considering this is outrageous! Wasn’t Don King banned from Atlantic City for a while? Now we should give him a street. It has nothing to do with race, as some may believe. Why give this guy a street and not allow a beach patrol station to be named after Mayor Whelan. At least Whelan served this city for years as Mayor and a Teacher.
The Shops on the Ocean One Mall - R.I.P. -- zuwahrah, 09:31:08 12/31/02 Tue
Unless I'm mistaken, today will be the last day to enjoy the Shops on (is it "at" or "on"?) the Ocean One Mall (at least what's left of them) as we have known them since whenever Ocean One opened (does anyone know when it opened?).
I wonder if people will be able to go up on the roof of the Ocean One Mall when it reopens with a Monopoly theme?

OR go to GOOGLE and key-in the offender's name +uninstall and see what pops up........if the instructions look to complicated keep looking 'till you find an easier/safer idea. Me auld Dad -- Mick, 14:48:23 12/25/02 Wed
I managed to fly to Ireland and speak to my Father 4 hours later he passed. I am blessed to have seen him as my sisters said he will not survive the night. Got of me arse 24 hours later I was in Ireland I spoke to Dad in his hospital bed. Am so blessed to have spoken to him before he passed. My sisters said he was waiting for me. This is a poem for him.
I have come from far away,
There is a lot I have to say,
I see you lie so tired and thin,
I feel a cold upon my skin.
You talk to me,
You don't seem scared,
I look at you,
I know you cared.
I have to go,
You are asleep,
One last look,
I start to weep.
And as I leave,
You raise your hand,
I look at,
You look so grand.
It won't be long,
For thats our fate,
Until then,
I can't wait.
Smithville Inn review -- Restaurant Henry, 22:01:46 12/30/02 Mon
Last nite it was the Smithville Inn courtesy of friends. We decided to have each of 2 sampler fishfood platters for the table of 4, good idea. The cold platter featured a bed of fresh mixed greens topped with portions of lump crabmeat, oysters, clams, shrimp and a dip. The hot platter gave us shrimp wrapped in very crisp bacon, small crab cakes, bruchetta topped with cheese, a dip and more. The bean soup and french omin soup were delicious and hearty. A loaf each of rasin bread topped with icing and sourdough were served. We were too full to eat entrees. The service was not up to par but it is the holiday season. We'll be back.
Harry's prose or writing style -- A Caring Soul, 08:27:10 12/29/02 Sun
Does anyone know if Harry attended college? The sad aspect of his elementary prose is that he does not realize the numerous spelling and gramatic errors he makes. He is unaware of how laughable the writing style is.

Restaurant review -- Restaurant Henry, 22:07:35 12/28/02 Sat
Last Friday we decided to try the Marriott Seaview Resort's fish buffet. We were not disapointed. The selection is broad and very well prepared. It is on a scale with the Sterling Brunch at Caruso's in the A.C. Hilton (our son-in-law was the chef there, now at Perrigrines). The fare as well prepared and all the lobster you can eat. There were Louisiana style swordfish, smoked salmon, jumbo shrimp,
fresh sautéed scallops, baked Cod Provençale, great salad bar, breads, pasta station, fresh grilled vegetables, California vegetable sushi rolls, jumbo lump Maryland crabcakes, stir fry beef tips to order and much more plus deserts. We enjoyed all of it. Nearly all the diners seemed to be talking about the food and how varied and good it was.
The dining room is well appointed, service is nearly impeccable, parking is valet and fast. You'll love it.
Ratings -- Mike, 21:43:36 12/26/02 Thu
Hurley currently has a 0.2 in the Arbitron ratings.
The next rating book comes out on Jan. 10th. If this number does not GREATLY improve, you can kiss Hurley in the Morning goodbye. Millennium is NOT going to pay for air talent that is not getting decent ratings, and advertisers are NOT going to sponsor a show that is not getting decent ratings either...

Old Bay Restuarant Review -- Restaurant Ron, 13:05:54 12/25/02 Wed
Well another night out with my lovely wife for dinner.
Tonight’s meal was simple but enjoyable J!
To begin I started with the Escarole soup, the broth was light enough to allow the freshness of the escarole, potatoes, and tomatoes to shine through and I had freshly grated parmesan cheese atop the soup, just enough to enhance the broth to my liking . My wife opted for the cheese salad which consisted of fresh chopped arugula mixed with walnuts and sliced pears, it was garnished with sticks of parmesan and provolone cheese, as well as a petit ball of goats cheese atop the mound of arugala
For my entrée I chose the broiled tuna steak topped with fresh chopped tomatoes and sliced jalapeno peppers which were not to hot, but spicy to the point of giving the tuna steak a nice kick. My wife went with one of the specials for the night, farfel with a homemade Bolognese sauce, very generous with the mixture of meat to sauce. I had my signature snifter of Grand Mariner and my wife a glass of the Yellowtail Shiraz.
For dessert I had fresh Flan in a wonderfully sweet caramel sauce, the wife had Fruitte’
De Bosco, great contrast in flavors with a sweet cake and custard mix topped with sour flavored cranberries, raspberries and blueberries.
The restaurant is located at 234 Philadelphia Ave in Egg Harbor City, across from the post office - Phone 609-804-1400
The owner opened it about a month ago and plans on upping his ads after the holidays.
The menu is not overloaded, a few pasta choices with or without different seafood, chicken, veal and steaks choices too. Oh and before I forget three types of carpaccios.
An extensive wine list and quite a few specialty drinks.
Until my next meal out
Ciao from Restaurant Ron and his lovely wife J
"Reverb" on WKXW - 1450 AM -- zuwarah, 13:06:37 12/26/02 Thu
If you've ever listened to WKXW 1450 AM, I sure that you have noticed that the announcers sound like they are talking from inside of a toilet. I don't know what they do to achieve this effect. Probably they just switch on a reverb switch.
This is alright for short periods of time, but after awhile it starts to become too much of a good thing.
They are the only station that I know of that does this. I, for one, can't listen to the station for very long because of this.
Creevys at Atlantis Review -- Restaurant Ron, 15:28:37 12/17/02 Tue
My wife and I had the pleasure of taking my In-Laws to dinner for their 43rd anniv. Sunday evening.
We went to a local rest. in little egg harbor called "Creevys at Atlantis" owned by Mike Creevy formerly of the Grapevine in Tuckerton.
We all began with the house salad, caesar was a 2nd option, the greens were crisp, with a good assortment, tomatoes fresh and the dressings all very good but not overpowering, mine being a chunky blue cheese,my wifes a balsamic vinnagerette with a hint of lime juice and my inlaws both chose honey sesame.
For our main entrees I had a petite filet (5 oz) with a lb and a half of alaskan king crab legs(very fresh!)My wife and mother in law had pork loins with an orange based salsa topping and a bite from habernero' pepper. They both commented on the moistness of the pork and the different flavors from the salsa, also Mikes garlic mashes potatoes and steam zuchinni on the plate. My father inlaw had a simple dish of pasta and clams (White sauce) the clams were both tasty and plentiful, just enough garlic and olive oil to please an old italian like my father in law who comes from Naples.
With dinner we had a bottle of "Yellow tail Shirazz" a red wine from australia at 14.00 very faily priced for a menu Item probably between 9-12 at your local store. It was enjoyed by all , complimenting and not overpowering any parts of our meal.
For desserts and after dinner drinks I had aplle cobbler(they were out of the peach)a bit to sweet for me and a warmed snifter of Grand Marnier, my wife had the peanut butter dream pie,a combo of chocolate ,peanut butter, and marshmallows served warm with a Sambuca,my mother in law had a fresh fruit tart with a lite custard base, the custard good ,the fruit plentiful ,also a Sambuca, and father in law finnished a fine meal with a slice of Tiara Misu a little to moist for his liking and a glass of Galiano'.
All in all a very pleasurable dining experience on outdone by the fine company!!
We also had a $25.00 gift certificate that I won for bid on Ebays link at restaurant.com for 2.71 alowing us to have had a dinner for 4 with drinks and dessert and a 20% plus tip for under 75.00!!
Please forgive any spelling or grammatical errors as this is my 1st review!
I did it at the suggestion of a good friend :)
Depending on the feedback or lack there of ,East Bay Crab and Grill and Damons Steak house are on the near horizon for reviews.

Christ In Christmas,I Dont Think So....... -- No name, 07:34:10 12/24/02 Tue
To all people who would call themselves christians or who say they believe in Christ:
That time of the year is again upon us , thats right the phony materialistic season of Xmas.
While all are trimming trees and decorating homes just remeber that Christmas has NO I repeat No scritual basis what so ever .
Lets start with the time of the year of Christs birth, Luke 2 8-11 shows that shepards were in the fields at night at the time of Jesus' birth. The book Daily life in the time of Jesus states: the flocks..passed the winter under cover;and from this alone it may seem that the traditional date for Xmas,in the winter,is unlikely to be right since the Gospel says that the shepards were in the fields--(New York 1962) Henri Daniel Rops page 228
The Encyclopedia American informs us: The reason for establishing Dec. 25 as Xmas is somewhat obscure butit is usually held that the day was chosen to correspond to PAGAN festivals that took place around the time of the winter solstice, when the days began to lenghthento celebrate the "Rebirth Of the Sun..The Roman Saturnalia(a festival dedicated to Saturn)the God of agriculture, and to renewed power to the sun, also took place at this time, and some Xmas customs are know to be rooted in this ancientpagan celebration (1977) Vol 6 page 666
The new Catholic Encyclopedia acknowledges:the date of christs' birth is not known ,the Gospels indicate neither the day nor month...according to the hypothesis suggested by H. Usener...and accepted by mant scholars today the birth of christ was assigned the winter solstice in the Julian calendar, but Jan 6 in the Egyptian calendarbecause on this day the sun began its return to the northern skies, the pagan devotees of Mithra celebrated the Dies NatisSolis Invinci(bithday of the innvincible sun)on Dec 25 274 AD,Aurelian had proclaimed the sun-god principal patron of the empire and dedicated a temple to himin the Campus Martius. Christmas originated at a time when the cult of the sun was particularly strong in Rome----(1967)Vol III page 658.
That should cover the Date of the 25th,next segment Wise men or Magi led by a Star? and giving gifts and Santa claus.
My hope is that maybe a few will actually pick up their bibles and read about Jesus his life and purpose on earth as to his father and the kingdom he preached about
Thanks MIKE! (NT) -- Merry Christmas too YOU too!, 18:31:57 12/23/02 Mon

An elderly man who lives in a Senior-Citizen (high-rise?) (place),in Pleasantville, called DON WILLIAMS to report that The Community Food Bank delivers food to the Seniors on a weekly basis, and the food is STOLEN!-by people who come and pick-up the goods in the back of the building.
DON told the man to CALL THE POLICE!
The man who called, points the finger at the "self-appointed" person who is in charge of distributing the bread and such to the Seniors.
There could be some confusion with this story-the elderly gentleman says that he would have a chance of recieving some of the goodies & foodstuffs,if he is present at the delivery time. His complaint mentioned that some oldsters are unable to get to where the food is at the delivery time and then the food vanishes.
Where's Harry -- NJerseyJ, 08:18:06 12/20/02 Fri
Where is the HUGE headline on HH.com about another Atlantic City lawsuit???? Oh that's right it's not news if it's not about Whelan or Gormley. If this lawsuit against Langford's Admin. for firing the solicitor happened to Whelan, I don't think there would be enough room on his website for the headline. Oh and the type O's too. Harry where is the fair and balanced news??? What race is the man who was fired? Is he not African American? This could be Langford’s way of not changing the Complexion of his city. Remember that! I think Langford should resign, just like they think Trent Lott should. Langford made a dumb racial remark. Why are we not calling for his resignation? If Whelan or Gormley made that statement about established white neighborhoods, people would be calling for their heads on a platter. Why is this not an issue for Mr. Langford?
Plagery at work AGAIN! -- BREAKING WIND!, 22:38:16 12/20/02 Fri
Checked out THE DRUDGE REPORT. Saw a headline (clipped from DRUDGE) " MURDER MYSTERY: DR LAURA'S MOTHER LAY DEAD FOR MONTHS IN APARTMENT... ",that headline was linked to an ap story via the TAMPA TRIBUNE. (the AP wire story had a different headline)
Went to page two of hh.com and (in the scrolling news box),saw THE SAME HEADLINE " MURDER MYSTERY: DR LAURA'S MOTHER LAY DEAD FOR MONTHS IN APARTMENT... ",This headline was linked to a Rueters news via YAHOO story about the same subject.
I sure hate to call MATT DRUDGE a PLAGERIST but,I find that A LOT of the SAME EXACT STORY choices show up on HH.com????? And HOW! could they BOTH have the same exact word for word headline??????
...maybe hairy should sue??? OR at least TIME STAMP "his" stories like DRUDGE does?
BIg Treat on ART BELL last night -- talkonline, 09:50:12 12/21/02 Sat
A surprize guest. MEL (yes,THAT MEL), from Mel's Hole. By my accounts, this would be part 4 of the story.
Yes,I fell asleep,(off& on). And I remember the story like pieces of a long dream.
MEL called (from an undisclosed location,of course) MEL says that the "Basque"(sp???)("Basque, being,I suppose some kind of tribe??? or something??),have been guarding hole #2 and they took a bag of "7-11"type ice,and lowered it into the hole in a bucket. When they brought the ice up,it was not hot,but it would not melt. One of the "Basque",took the ice home and put it in his wood stove. It heated his cabin Eventually, the wood stove began to be drawn into the ground, creating ANOTHER hole. at that point, the authorities came in and took over. They brought heavy equiptment to hoist the stove out of the ground. After bringing in heavier & heavier cranes etc. (due to the lighter cranes breaking against the force of the stove),they finally brought the stove & the ice out of the ground. They (the feds) put it on a truck & took it away. Somehow, the cabin pulverized into multi-colored dust. (this is where I fell asleep) When I woke up MEL & ART were talking about hole #2 (I think),and some kind of platform around it,and a seal-like creeature that would hop out of the hole and sit on the (stainless steel-like?) platform and, comunicate (via ESP???),with the people at the top of the hole and then go back in to the hole. Well, that's about all I can remember.THANK-YOU ART & MEL FOR THE FANTASTIC STORY!

that PIE LADY SELLS OUT! Due to being featured on ED HITZEL'S show last week. (Ree-Ree's (sp?) pies) on Washington Avenue in Pleasentville.
A (delicious Butternut Squash Pie????)....I will be always in search of the perfect Sweet Potato pie/Cuban style-no crust, that I consumed one lucky Thanksgiving many years ago. (I ate two pies and then hibernated for the rest of the Winter).
I took off the "approve" device. I posted some messages but guess I forgot to "approve" and the messages never went up-hope it didn't happen to anyone else!
Who Runs the US Senate? -- rujane, 16:10:03 12/19/02 Thu
So I was doing a little research into the backgrounds of our legislators - tedious, as not all of their web sites are "friendly" - and accounting for some lame ducks and some incoming that weren't available, and some that didn't include the info in their bio, or have a bio, I thought it was very interesting that these were the pre-Senate professions of 83 - I think I counted right - of our US Senators:
57 lawyers
9 business owners/managers/CEOs
7 educators
3 agriculture
2 veterinarians
2 sports backgrounds
2 social work/public service
1 medicine
1 blacksmith(!)
Many had military service, I think all had college degrees with many MAs.
The NJ-TEC (New Jersey Television Educators Consortium) is in the process of developing a speakers bureau that would list the names and contact data of those in the radio, television and film industry who are willing to talk to groups of high school students.
The vast majority of these students have a limited perspective of the overall communication and entertainment industries and need to hear directly from the professionals. There are no limits to the topics and can include information on careers, suggested educational training, technical/production tips, acting , etc.
There is also a need for the students to hear from those who are involved in the second tier of these professions such as legal, research, transportation, support personnel, etc.
If you would like to be included in the listing please contact Charles Burke, President NJ-TEC.
