Yeah-there were racial comments last year (as usual),I was astounded to see some of the racisit comments attributed to Langford (in The Press)-but at least he wasn't talking in "code",like Trent Lott!-
Let's all "get along" in 2003!?!?...in my opinion,(oh yeah-I could be wrong! of course),the Langford administration pulled out some great surprizes last year, but didn't do any serious damage. The worst (political) thing that happened was also the best, that being the end of the practice of giving employees huge "sick-day" bonanzas when they retire.-I say it's the "worst",because although I am not affected by it in any way,I don't even know any of the players in that deal- the way that it was done -retroactivly, so that certain top-cops who have been banking their sick-days for decades, appear to have it all taken away......To me it stinks of retribution of some sort and I really hope that those guys get the $$$ that they were looking forward to while they put their life on the line and served Atlantic City for all of those years. For some reason, that story really gets to me when I think about someone going to work for years and dreaming about the day when they retire with an extra hundred grand or so. Beyond cruel to take that away. I really am surprized that we haven't heard of a lawsuit yet on that one!
