And it seems like when people get a serious diagnosis, they have to get real educated real fast about their condition. Do most people do whatever the doc. says w/o questions???
I know that I don't,but some people do. Would some people take medicine w/o even looking it up online??? Of course if someone is extremely ill, it is all in the caregiver's hands
The person who has the "good" leg removed, an obvious illness that goes un-diagnosed and un-treated, well-they have professional review boards for that. Yes those people should have a right to sue,and be compensated.
I know someone who suffered malpractice in London, which was a socialist healthcare system-like Canada's, when things went wrong, they were left with a life-long disability (brain-damage), and zero compensation or even any kind of assistance with future needs. (They have to pay for treatments themself because they moved back to the US)
Hopefully the recent attention and actions will work things out (more) fairly.
The doctors have to be honest and admit that people have a right to sue. Maybe a cap for lawyers and a check and balance on the insurance companies? The "blame" seems to be placed on "jackpot" financial awards for patients. But if they keep digging,I think that the insurance companies are the ones getting most of the "jackpot"????? If they work on getting the greed and fraud out of the system, it should work????
