Trenton is Central Jersey.

The idea is stupid, IMO. New Jersey is small enough as it is. And, the governor does not have the power to break South Jersey away. Even if he did, I don't think a silly online petition would convince him...

You're somewhat right MIKE!-BUT-the idea has been going on for awhile. I hear about it every now and then, I heard some man call PINKY the other day and bring it up again. The more I think about it,it sounds like a better and better idea- ok,maybe not for THREATENING to turn every racetrack in to a casino,BUT-IF. IF something like that really happened????? A VERY ROTTEN THING TO DO TO US! MIKE-it would be pretty bad as far as ATLANTIC CITY is concerned. Look at what has already happened to stock prices. How many casino employees are holding stocks as part of his/or her perks (q?)? They have to hope and wait that the value comes back. What if some of them were getting ready to cash-in stocks at one rate for a big purchase like a home? Or retirement? Right now, they don't have what they had a few days ago-due to what the Senator explained was poorly thought-out advice, given to the Governor, from the Treasurer.

I heard WAYNE call-in and he has a totally different opinion,THAT almost made sense too.-WAYNE did not seem that concerned one way or the other, did he imply that it is too crowded here??? I'm not sure about that but I think that people would stay here-THEY JUST WOULDN'T HAVE A JOB OR $$$.

If you want South Jersey to get more support, then why not encourage someone from South Jersey to run for governor?

Well-I don't think that we need more support??? Today on The INsider w/DAN KLIEN,he made it pretty clear that ESSEX COUNTY alone has about as many representitives as ALL of SOUTH JERSEY. (www.shorelinker.com (The INSIDER) is setting up a special TALK BACK! page just for this prob. btw)

Who the GOV. is matters, but it is the votes in the State Legislature that will decide. NOw-who do you think that the Essex County legislators care about more??? Atlantic City,or The Meadowlands?

That exactly why it would never happen. North Jersey rules this state. We're at their stinkin mercy. Its the most densly populated area in the country, heavily democratic, too. Ain't no way you gonna get a south jersey governor especially after Florio, he made it only cause he was a dem.
