Wow, I am shocked and appalled at the responses of the Parent for many years. I agree with Inoa on his modest reply to such a vulgar display of the defamtions that took place on this message board. I am quite surprised and pleased with Inoas ability to remain mature and above the situation at hand unlike others in previous responses. Yes the girls times are quite slow, BUT as everyone knows, ASUA set the times and we must live with them. We as swimmers know that if our males swam their cuts, they would be in good contention with the rest of the competition. But unfortunately on the girls side, going the "A" times listed will surely not make it into finals or even semifinals/consoles. And for that reason, we beleive the times by ASUA are not mediocre, but just unbalanced. Parent, please remain a parent and not a swim politician. Its rude comments like yours that has brought and is still bringing our younger male swimmers down and ruin dreams.

"""IF they want to compete in the Pan Am Games. Instead of whining about the time standards, why not jump in the pool and try to catch up with male swimmers all over the Pan Am Area. If you put half that energy into your training, you might just be able to qualify"""

This statement was truly uncalled for. Personally, i cannot believe that a parent actually quoted this and didnt own up to it. We male swimmers(especially those abroad) train just as hard as those in the Pan Am area. And to the comment of "cathing up" to other males, we are obviously an extremely young team. Myself being only 17, Ashton 18, and Inoa just turning 19. Swimming is a sport that takes an enormous amount of rigoruos training and time just to make a small improvement. But improvements are steadily done over time throughout life. Unlike girls who are extremely fast at younger ages but slowly fade away in improvements as time rolls by. So parent, if you were a swimmer, you would have known this, but since you are "just" a parent, please keep the insults to a minimum and the encouragement needs to increase. Thank you all, God bless, and remember to set good examples for our children.
